Professor Sundmacher is the sweetest, most caring professor you will ever meet!!! She is understanding of everything. You could definitely skip her class but DONT. Her classes are actually so fun. She makes writing fun and straight forward. Easy grader, too!

I seriously loved having Dr. Sundmacher. She's so sweet, personable and makes class so fun--in FYW almost all classes are group discussions about novels read in and outside of class. (We read 3 books and wrote about 4 papers, which were fairly easy.) She's also very understanding as a person and is easy to talk to outside of class.

AMAZING professor. Class is all discussion and she encourages you to talk with peers. Only reading and 4 papers for this class. I have never had a professor who is so understanding about students having more than just her class and is willing to give extensions. She wants us to enjoy writing, not just write to meet a deadline. Definitely take her!

Best class I've taken at USD. Majority of the classes are discussion based, books read are interesting, and she is very helpful if confused. Assigns a lot of writing, but allows you to choose what you want to write about. TAKE THIS PROFESSOR.

Sundmacher has great taste in novels, but she knows absolutely nothing about the texts she's teaching. She forgets major plot points and grabs talking points from Wikipedia. Discussions are a snooze. Write something she agrees with and you'll have an easy A.

Professor Sundmacher is easily the most caring professor I've encountered thus far. She assigns a lot of writing, but ALWAYS to be peer edited, turned in and edited by her so that you can make it better. She asks alot, but is very understanding as her biggest goal is for you to appreciate writing and reading. I would take ANY class of hers

This is one of my favorite classes and she was my favorite professor this semester. She is really nice and understanding. If you really need an extension on a paper and she sees that you're tying, she will give it to you. a few papers and lot's of reading. exam format is only essays, but it's pretty easy if you've read the material. take her!

Prof. Sundmacher is one of few that actually really cares about her students. While she doesn't grade easily she is always willing to help you out. Attendance is pretty much mandatory, can't miss more than a few days. Not sure I'm gonna get an A as she expects a lot but overall a good way to further your writing.

I absolutely loved professor sundmacher! She is amazing and the nicest person ever. She is extremely helpful and genuinely cares about the students opinions and how they like the material we cover. A lot of the class is discussing the novels and how we liked them. Quite a few papers but nothing too difficult. I would totally recommend taking her!

This was my favorite class this semester but I had to work pretty hard. If you go to class and participate you should do fine. She gives you feedback on first drafts which help a lot for the final draft. Great class discussions, I laughed all the time. Take this class, you will learn a lot.

She is really helpful and a great teacher, but the class is intense! There is a lot of reading and a lot of writing but she does rough drafts and will give you a TON of good feedback which really helps. I've never liked eng but she really makes the assignments interesting & enjoyable..she's really nice too and always willing to give extra help

She is a really caring teacher, discuss interesting topics, all required reading are easy reads. Workload is moderate: Daily journals on the reading to be turned in bi-weekly; One paper (counts for final); One presentation; and One Mid-Term Exam based off the reading and if you did your journals you will do fine. She is GREAT! AWSOME! The BEST!

very nice lady. grades hard on papers, but there arent that many. is extremely strict on attendance tho. must go to class. books are mostly interesting and she does a good job explaining. i absolutely HATE english but she made it do-able and i survived with a B.

There is so much homework and she is not helpful. There was something due every class. I went in for every paper to get help and she did not help at all. She is nice but a bad teacher
