Had her for Representing American Women. She is pretty nice and treats people with respect. She assigns a lot of book quizzes but if you read them on Sparknotes you'll be fine. Make sure to take good notes. You have two midterms that are pretty tough. Participation matters!

Dr. MacComb is very educated on American Literature and Composition. She is a very helpful professor. In ENGL 2130, we only had one 5-6 page essay, a midterm, a final, and many different out of class writing assignments as well as in-class writing assignments. She is a great professor, but her class can be challenging. Just make sure to READ!!!!

Dr. MacComb is truly an elegant woman who is very, very intelligent and loves the material. My class with her was seminar styled, so we just discussed the readings assigned to us. What I loved about this class was that she makes you turn in a rough draft, which doesn't get graded, and gives you great feedback. Her final was pretty easy.

I personally liked this class because I love to read and that's the main thing that we did. Read and have discussions (which you must participate in to get points.) There's a group assignment at the end of the semester but it's pretty easy just do your part. Speak out in class & put in your opinion.

Has a very soothing voice that can put you to sleep, but is at the same time very engaging. She is a fair grader and gives great feedback. A bad grade in her class is strictly based on your performance. She makes assignments easy to understand and gives you ample opportunities to correct mistakes. Take her class, you will not regret it. She's great

Dr. MacComb's class was to the point and easy if your did the reading. The main challenge is that she puts up assignments last minute or even after they are due according to the syllabus. She still gives enough time to get the work done, but since it's an online summer class its challenging to plan your life around the unpredictable assignments.

Because it's Senior Seminar, expect the long term paper. She is great at helping you write your essays and is truly engaged in your writing process. We only read a few things and they were pretty reasonable. She loves what she does and she's excited about talking about it. You have to go to class in order to get a good grade, but she doesn't test!

Dr. MacComb is a great professor. I wouldn't suggest taking her class if you can't right a coherent sentence though. She's very sweet, fair grader, and very intellectual when it comes to lectures. I took her for American Womanhood and loved it. Not too tough on the grading, looks for goodintelligent analysis when it comes to papers.

While nice, she's terrible at class discussion (it's a 4k class and she treats class discussion at about a 2000 level), and grades essays based on standards she doesn't accurately describe to students. At one point, she asked for a definition on a test that she had never given in class.

She is one of my favorite professors. I have taken her twice now, and I am taking her again in the spring. She is very clear, she invites you into the conversation, and her class is far from boring. She lets you correct your papers after she has graded them. She is a really great professor!

She's awesome. Grades fairly easy, keeps syllabus up-to-date, allows you to rewrite papers, easy to talk to, the mid term and final were easy, and she's real laid back. I've already signed up for another one of her courses. I definitely recommend taking her.

Her standards of writing are EXTREMELY high and it is hard to figure out what her expectations are. She has a tendency to be vague at points so ask questions. Otherwise, she is definitely dedicated to her job and makes the literature interesting. Don't expect an easy ride, but it is worth it in the end.

I had no intrest in this class before hand, but Dr. MacComb made it really interesting. I was one of 5 guys in the class. There is a lot of reading for the first few weeks but most of the books are short and as long as you do the work shouldn't have a problem. As she will say It's not an "easy A" but you can get one if you and that's what I did :)

She is a VERY helpful professor. My writing improved tremendously while I was in her class. If you read the books and come to her for corrections you will do well. Overall, Dr. MacComb is awesome.
