Dr. Paul in my opinion is one of the worst professors at MSU. She is very unclear on what she expects. She comes off as condescending and isnt approachable when asking for clarification.

Positives: Interesting content, relates information to the classroom, lots of time for assignments, ends early, gives 3 days for "independent study". Negatives: unclear, vicious if someone does not agree with her or criticises her, confusing setup of information, boring lectures, entire grade heavily based on 3 end assignments.

This teacher preaches about her problems with education today rather than inspiring students. She teaches more about her life and how everyone is out to get you when you are a teacher, rather than teaching the topic of the class. She doesn't share any of her materials because she says it is her's so if you get a copy of something, don't lose it!

She is friendly enough but I would recommend avoiding her. She holds unattainably high standards for student work, yet she doesn't teach the content AT ALL. Sitting in her class was depressing because I actually wanted to learn about literacy rather than her personal views.

Dr Paul is a great professor. She is not only smart and passionate about her job, but she has a unique perspective that can be helpful for any person going into the education profession. She is not easy, and will not dumb down the class anyone. Take her if you want to actually learn

This teacher is on a power trip and says as much in the beginning of the semester. She told our class that we can complain, but since she is in charge of complaints, nothing will come of it. She "taught" me that I need to bring donuts when talking to teachers. What I really learned was that sometimes you have to deal with people you don't like.

TAKE HER! Incredibly intelligent and down to earth. Really helps out her students and offers interesting and useful lessons. She encouraged me to look at pedagogy in an entirely different fashion and I love her!

One of the best professors I have had. I learned alot in this class. She does require you to actually do work and think for yourself so maybe that is why she doesnt get the best rating. But if you go to class do the work and show her respect she will return the respect and you will do fine. Overall it was a great class experience.Highly recommended

5 students asked her to explain an assignment. Her response was to copy the description we had from her useless syllabus and then redistribute it! She can't lecture, explain or communicate about anything but her personal views and rights.she has excuses for everything, changes her mind, wastes your time. You learn zero in total boredom.

I enjoyed this class and she is a teacher who treats you the same way you treat her. Very reasonable and I enjoyed her and her class! She is also very funny. Overall, it was a great experience!

I can see where some of the comments are coming from, she def has a sharp tongue... but I found her to be a very democratic and unique prof. Each class was just a discussion, however I did learn from the case study. I found her to be humorous and she was very understanding at times. If you don't mind doing work than her class is fine.

I was reading the comments on here and laughing because everyone thinks the same thing that I and the rest of my class think! I wish I had read these comments prior to registering for her class. If she spent half as much time teaching something valid as she does talking about how wonderful she is, we would be getting somewhere!

She is by far the worst professor I have ever had in either undergrad or graduate classes. She is extremely unclear in what she expects, doesn't actually teach anything all semester long, is rude and obnoxious, and very unhelpful. Not only is she a horrible professor, but she is also a disgusting human being. I actually despise her.

She is very unprofessional. The topics she discussess in class have nothing to do with content. She is rude. Will embarass student in front of the class. She explains assignments orally and you are expected to write down everything as she talks. Then, she changes her mind, when she is grading. She condradicts what she says.

I have taken many courses at the graduate level. You will not always like the approach of the professor or the required assignments. But this woman treats students poorly. She seems to forget that she instructs adults and the concept of respect. It was an insult to have to sit through her class. That I was able to learn is a credit to me.
