I give her props cause she has never held it against me that I haven't seen any Monty Python! She took us to an amazing Museum in Louisville that was of all about weaponry from the beginning of time and throughout the ages. She knows her medieval history, let me tell you! And her fascination with historical women is evident in class. Great classes!

Dr. Parks is an amazing person. Sometimes she gets off topic during lectures, but nonetheless the class discussions are really interesting. She does care for all her students and only wishes for each person to gain knowledge on the topic rather than having them worry about passing the class. She's also willing to work with you if you're struggling.

I like Dr. Parks as a person, but she is routinely late to class and sometimes ill-prepared. She seemed to be making up what we were doing the semester as we went along. The class is mostly discussion based. Readings are inconsistent--one week we'll have a few page article to read, the next an entire book. She's a fairly lenient grader, however.

Dr. Parks does not really care about anything but discussion (which is pretty good and straightforward). We had a minimum number of papers and she often cancelled class. I was in her FYS class and it was no work at all.

Comment:
Dr. P was very irresponsible. She was routinely late to class, and her expectations of us as students were painfully unclear as the syllabus was never updated. Minimal feedback was given forassignments turned in for credit so I had no idea what my grade was until after the semester was over. When asked for a grade update, she scoffed at my request.

Comment:
Dr. Parks is okay, I guess. Class is discussion-based, so I'm not entirely sure what I'm supposed to be learning. She assigned a take-home midterm essay which was nice. Unfortunately, Dr. P's not very good with technology, so we sometimes miss things. Once again, I do not know what she is trying to teach me. It's kind of a shot in the dark.

Great Professor; funny and easygoing! Very knowledgeable, clear, and helpful. Her only flaw: rarely on time. Requires students to do their portion of work. Many reading assignments; papers and tests are quite easy. Overall, great course. However, be prepared for a lot of hard work.

Dr. Parks is a fantastic lecturer and definitely good preparation for graduate school in her focus on primary sources. Fascinating and friendly, she's always willing to help students out! If you have a question about how to do better, she is always there to help, and very considerate. I couldn't have asked for a better adviser.

Dr. Parks in an incredible professor! Not only were all of her classes fun and educational, but she is always more than happy to help you outside of class. I can't tell you how many time I stopped by her office to discuss a paper or idea. If you are curious about your grade, just ask her! There was no guess work when it came to her class!

she was an amazing prof. Was always there to help you when you needed it. the biggest thing is to keep up on your reading esp. the primary sources. the primary sources are the most important part of the essays.

This class was ridiculous. I felt as if the entire purpose was so Dr. Parks could listen to the sound of her own voice. She was always late, never prepared for lectures, and I also felt as if somethings were historically off or out of date. In the end i got As on every assignment but a B+ in the class. She was insane. She also discredited Jewish Hi

I'm lucky to pass this class with a B-. Every lecture paper was a C and I kept wondering if she was trying to tell me that I couldn't write an accurate paper. She may be helpful and open to discussions, but looks are deceiving.

she's a good lecturer and a wonderful person but she has a hard time getting graded tests, quizzes, and homework back so that the student can track their own progress. She also didn't post a midterm grade and that kind of upset me.
