Comment:

Professor James was very inspirational, very caring, and very kindhearted. None of her assignments were difficult. She had a lot of family trouble going on during our semester but she stuck through it and was still helpful. Only needed the textbook for her weekly "exam questions" assignment where she asks you to tailor exam questions from the book.

Comment:

Dr. James was an absolute treat! She does not have difficult assignments, tests come straight from lectures and a bit of the chapters. She does not give a heavy work load, but missing an assignment could mess up a semester. She also offers short extra credit at the end of the semester.

It seems like Dr. James is intentionally trying to trick students. Subjects matter discussed in lectures doesnt align with tests. You must know every single ounce of meterial in and out if you want to pass her class, even material that is irrelevant to the topic being taught. I was more frustrated taking her class than any other class I have taken

Dr. James' class was not difficult. Exams were open-note. Group project was a waste of time. She made it so much more difficult than it needed to be. She is very adamant about attendance, participation, and professionalism. She does not go over every lecture, so make sure you are aware that EVERYTHING on the course website is fair game for the exam

There is much reading in the course, but I can honestly say that I learned so much in this course. There is no textbook for the course so much of the reading material is provided through lecture notes, handouts, articles, and other resources that she provides. You have to earn your grade and you'll gain so much knowledge on nutrition.

I took Dr. James for both HSC 3102 & HSC 4623. She is a tough woman to deal with but she cares. Don't ask her stupid questions, or you will get a crazy response. READ your syllabus, read your textbook, you will do just fine. She expects a lot but she will make sure you only bring her the best. At the end of the day she prepares you for employers.

This online class was totally do-able. She makes it very clear what is expected and her tests are open "book" (i.e. internet bc there is no book). She is a little tough on grading but she gives great feedback and makes it easy not to make the same mistake twice. The articles she had us read were interesting and relevant.

I've never been so disappointed in a UF professor. She is rude to students and if you don't answer questions the way that she wants you to then you are wrong. She goes off on irrelevant tangents and thinks that she is hilarious. She will stare at you until you laugh at her jokes which are not funny. Exams are ridiculous, 60 questions in 50 mins.

She was a horrible teacher. She was very vague when giving instructions about assignments. A lot of her grading was a matter of opinion and not present in her syllabus or rubric. Finally, her grammar was hard to understand which made it difficult when taking quizzes or tests.

Supposedly this class will only be offered online in the future....but you should still run far away as fast as you can. The triple block class was mostly of topic discussion (not useful). You must memorize every fact from lengthy slides, and the textbook. She is vague and lacks direction and clarification both via email and in class.

I thought I was going to get another professor, but I guess I got her. I assumed that I was going to be interested in this subject because it had to do with health. But that is not the case. Dr. James is very particular with all of her grading and will point out every flaw with your opinion responses. I suggest looking for teacher before signingup

Dr. James is the rudest person I have ever met. She expects you to be involved in class but when you ask questions (even ones that are completely relevant) she has a rude answer to give back. She is not helpful at all and has no respect for her students. She is not encouraging in the least.

Comment:

She has her moments when she can be nice, but is extremely rude to students who asks questions. Almost nothing was on her Exams from what she discusses in class, which can be frustrating. Gives no points for coming to class but takes points away. Luckily Exams were online and taken at home so earning a good grade is possible.

Comment:

Well, I for one LOVED her class. Maybe there is a difference between how she is in the fall/spring, and how she is over the summer, but she has passion and is very knowledgable about nutrition, and her class keeps you awake and entertained. While she sometimes lacks tolerance for questions, she is a very sweet woman and a wonderful professor.

One of the worst classes I have taken at UF. I was extremely disappointed. Not only was she rude to the students, her class made no sense. It is entirely discussion based, yet the discussions are never on topic. AND class is mandatory, so you have to listen to her talk about subjects that are irrelevant.
