Comment:

Dr. Martz is a very nice lady. Her lectures are interesting and enjoyable. I didn't give her a 5/5 because I hated the wording of her test questions. She made some of them unnecessarily hard or nearly impossible to get the right answer. I liked her class and felt like I learned a lot so I would take her again but beware of her tests.

Comment:

If you want to learn the psychological view of health psych , I recommend her class. The only problem is that she speaks very fast, and slides are not available before or after the lectures. Very trivial things will be on the tests such as raw stats and numbers so memorize everything. Her tests are hard and are worth 25 pts each 4 tests total.

Mrs. Martz is an amazing, caring professor and incredibly smart. I gained interest in the class I didnt think Id have. She is somewhat tough only 3 exams and a final but she will work with you if you reach out. Lecture heavy but very clear and concise on test material. I would no doubt take her again! Great teacher.

This class is hard to make an A in, but not impossible. Lectures every class, all class, but incorporates personal experience to keep it interesting. Only grades are 4 tests throughout the year. Tests are fair and doable, but studying is required. Lectures go SUPER fast - plan to type into the skeleton ppt provided on the website.

Dr Martz is an amazing professor. Her class consists of 3 exams and a cumulative final. There is a lot of information, so if you don't like studying I wouldn't recommend this class. She talks really fast, so it can be difficult to keep up. However, she is an incredibly kind professor and she's hilarious.

If you can't handle fast-pace speakers, do not take this class. Powerpoint outlines are provided, but you need to almost break your hand to copy down the notes & her side pieces in time & she won't post them after. There's 4 tests, final is cumulative. Outside material you never go over. Will never know test formats & they're online in class ONLY

I took her health pysch class and she'll cover a lot of information fast. Biggest problem I had with the class was that she doesn't prepare you for tests at all. It's a big guessing game as to what will be on there.

i had her for health psych, a class i would recommend to anyone! dr. martz is extremely kind and empathetic and one of the most approachable professors i've had. your only grades are the 4 exams, and all of the material comes from her class lectures. attendance not mandatory but you need to go to class and type notes quickly, because she talks FAST

Dr. Martz is incredible. She is able to apply her work as a practicing psychologist to the material in class. There are 4 Exams. That's it. So go to class, study, and you will be a-ok. I learned so much in her class and every class Dr. Martz made interesting and funny.

Class was Health Psych. Great teacher, very passionate about the subject. She uses studies (some that she has even been a part of) to back up information said. Great lectures, always interesting. There are 4 tests (50 questions each) that make up your grade, each out of 25 points so do well early on. Would take another class with her.

She doesn't upload powerpoints which have a TON of words on each slide. While you're busy taking notes you better become a multitasker, as she will talk about other stuff which will be on the test. She also doesn't give back tests, so good luck reviewing you scores. Would avoid.

A basic college class, however she talks fast and crams in a lot of information. I suggest that you record the lectures (along with filling in the power point notes). Pay attention to whether something is "positive/negative reinforcement", "punishment" , etc. because it will be on the test. Also, about 5 questions per test are from the textbook!

Love Dr. Martz! She offered great information about a myriad of healthcare fields and lifestyles. She is opinionated, but the information she gives isn't biased, it's legitimate research. Her class was very easy. I showed up for every class and sat in the front row. Never received below a 93 on any test.

Each lecture felt more and more like she was preaching a lifestyle and not teaching a health psych class. You learn a few fun facts, but that's about it. You can pass the class with a B with minimal effort. Gives extra credit and you watch a lot of movies. Unhelpful and unconcerned in regard to online study tools she insists you try out.

LOVE HER LOVE HER LOVE HER. She is hilarious and so so smart. I found myself a bit intimidated by her at the beginning of the semester, but she is very understanding and easy to talk to. She was extremely personable and interesting. I would have taken her over and over if I could have. Just wish she taught a wider variety of classes.

Great professor! Her lecture makes sense, her answers to questions are clear, class is common sense, tests are lengthy but easy. Attendance is with iClickers but is extra credit- There r 1000 different ways to pass her class with flying colors. Just make sure not to miss the tests- she is not very sensitive to unplanned family matters/illness/etc.

Let me put it this way, I would take every class with Dr. Martz if that were an option. The lady knows her stuff! She teaches in a very clear, concise manner. She's very funny & uses stories from her own life experience. Take notes from the powerpoints, study, and you'll be fine. I recommend a laptop for notes, because she goes quick. Take her!
