Dr. Woodward is a great teacher. She explains things in a way you can understand. Going to lectures wasn't so bad because she makes thing interesting and funny. I didn't go to office hours because she was pretty accessible via email and provides a very helpful online textbook.

Denise is the best! She made lectures fun and informative. For really big classes like BIOL110, I'd recommend sitting towards the front of the room to help with staying focused. I also never read the learning guides and instead took my own notes on the tutorials and that worked super well for me. Denise is awesome definitely take her if you can!!

TAKE DR. WOODWARD FOR THIS CLASS! Her lectures are very thorough and are extremely beneficial in clearing up concepts that were hard to understand. Enjoyed going to this class. Read the tutorials, do the homework, and keep your grade up in lab. The tests were challenging, but managable if you study the right way (mind maps highly recommended).

Bio 110 is difficult and definitely a weed out class, but if you're taking it TAKE DENISE. She is by far the best 110 professor, and she is the head of the department so she really knows how to present new things. It does take some getting use to, but if you do the tutorials and take noted on your own as well as notes in lecture you'll be good.

This class is all over the place. Definitely the most disorganized class Ive ever taken. The material is not bad to learn, but the way it is presented is not ideal. Dr. Woodward is a great professor. Her exams are kind of difficult but if you learn how to study for it you will be fine. Work is online, class is basically only for clicker points.

Dr. Woodward is amazing. She is smart and actually pretty funny. The class is not that hard at all and she goes over in detail what will be on the test in class. As long as you go to class and take her practice exams you will get an A. The only annoying part is the homework and the lab work but the averages on both are very high.

Easy going professor but tests are extremely difficult. Need to study weeks in advance for them and questions on the exams seemed to be aimed to confuse you. If you are on top of the work in advance you should be fine, but don't fall behind. Lots of good points incorporated from Lab.

Dr. Woodward is really chill and funny and I enjoyed her lectures, but the course overall seemed to be kind of all over the place. The course is a little more in-depth than a typical AP Biology course but you won't have any trouble because Dr. Woodward & all the LAs are ready to help you. Many opportunities to get help w/ the course if you need it.

I actually really enjoyed this class and found the lectures to be well taught and informative. Tests are difficult but if you pay attention, take good notes, and study in advance you will be fine. This is a weed out class so it isn't necessarily an easy A, but I thought with detailed lectures and guided notes an A was not unattainable.

Absolutely the worst teacher I have ever had. She gave me a zero on a group assignment that I missed due to a funeral, and even after acknowledging the circumstances refused to change the grade. Recently, she submitted the wrong exam to the testing center and offered a re-take, in which after reading my availability still scheduled me horribely.

A lot of this is learning on your own. Lecture on really counts for clicker points. Exams are definitely tough. The average for each exam is never really high. Not very clear and sometimes some of the LAs don't even know what she is talking about.

Doesn't deserve a paycheck. The information you will learn from this course is going to be 100% from the online textbook which she assigns as reading, and then insults you during lecture by pretty much reading it back at you. Anybody can tell you what to read and test you on it. Being a good teacher requires a lot more

Denise is awesome. She's a very hard grader and her exams are difficult, but that does not mean she isn't a great professor. Show up, take good notes, and study hard- her exams are very fair. She is overall a lovely person and one of my favorite professors at Penn State.

This should be an online class. The only reason I went to class was for clickers. Otherwise, the class was pointless and Denise made them fairly boring and annoying . You can literally just read the tutorials before the tests and get A's on them, lectures don't matter. She tries to trick everyone on clickers to show superiority, which is annoying.

This class covers a lot and it's pretty boring, but she makes it somewhat bearable. Lectures definitely cleared up the big concepts & the clicker points were helpful, but you will probably need to do A LOT of studying because the exams cover so much. We could drop our lowest exam and if you do well on hw and labs they give you a decent boost.

She's a very nice lady and makes the lectures interesting. Only thing is tests are kind of tough, you need to read the tutorials thoroughly and make sure you take good notes. Studying the night before will not help. Clicker points and homework boost your grade but not enough to help if you're failing.

Exams are tough, but if you put the effort in the class really isn't bad. As long as you read the tutorials and are good at memorization, you will be fine. Denise made lectures interesting and made some of the more difficult concepts easy to understand. Don't skip!
