Really a great prof. Attendance isn't mandatory although it really helps to be there. If you don't understand something, ask him. He seems to appreciate when people interact with him in class and if you do, he will know you by name.It isn't the easiest class, but as a business major, it was very helpful.

Your grade is based on two exams and the final. However, the final is optional, so if you did fine on the first two you can just stop going about half-way through the semester(which is what I did). Both of the exams were open-note and not challenging at all! Just show up for those two exams then forget about the class, you should be able to get a B

The class is difficult. Only 3 things graded, and they're all exams. Do well on the ethics exam because the other 2 are very difficult. As long as you don't bomb all of the exams a C is very attainable. Getting an A is nearly impossible though. Not familiar with the other BLAW prof. but he made the class more interesting than most would.

There's 3 exams. All are extremely hard. I never missed a class and I'm expecting a B, however I worked my tail off to get a B. This isn't an easy class. If you take him, be prepared to teach yourself.

Ames may have been the worst professor I have ever taken here. He is a funny and nice guy, he just doesn't teach for anything. Class is only based on 3 tests and are all impossible. Teaches as if you should already know everything about law. Sad because I was excited to take this class until I realized I had to teach myself.

Dr. Ames was possibly my favorite professor this semester. I'm a straight-A student, and will likely end up with a B in his course. He is very intelligent, and I was EXCITED to go to his class each day! Uses great personal examples/ supplements. This is a class I honestly don't mind getting a B, because of how much I learned!STRONGLY RECOMMEND!

Class based on 3 tests. Weighted nicely but extremely hard. Final is cumulative. Worth half your grade. Talks to you like you're a law major. You have to teach yourself the material on the first 2 exams. Wait until Junior/Senior year if you HAVE to take it. Straight A student, got barely a C. I don't suggest Ames at all....

Two Papers and an Exam, plus an extra credit paper. Attendance is not mandatory, but highly recommended. Interesting lectures and class in general. He has a lot of real-world experience which enhance his lectures. I would go to class A LOT more if I could do it over. I would recommend him.

Definitely the best prof you can take for this class. Only two papers and an extra credit paper, plus the final. Attendance isn't mandatory, but try to go and listen. He's pretty interesting and you'll do better on the final if you go majority of the time. I recommend!

This professor is awesome! He really knows what he's talking about and is a great person in general. His sense of humour is really different, but you'll get some laughs. Attendance not mandatory, and only three papers. Definitely take him if he's available!

This was not my first time taking this class, I previously took it with Scudder (NEVER TAKE HIM). Dr. Ames is a very funny, interesting man. He has a lot of real life examples from his past and they definitely help you understand what is going on. Take notes, do well on the 3 papers, take the final and you'll get at least a C.

Pretty easy class, got an a on all the papers, bombed the final but still ended up with a b. only test is the final and its open book. GET TEXTBOOK, he points out examples throughout the year. lecture wasn't bad, mostly talked about examples, quite interesting

He's a good lecturer and the material is interesting. He gives only 3 assignments during the semester, and they're pretty much all guaranteed A's if you make the papers the required length. I don't even think he reads them. The exam on the other hand is HARD. If you do well on the assignments and fail the final, you're guaranteed a C
