RUDE. First he shows up late, then he spends eight minutes writing his name/info on the board, then the first thing he says is "I will not be accepting anyone on the wait list". He went on to (slowly) explain that even though there was probably room for them, he didn't like big classes. Which translates to he does not like more work. RUDE.

he is seriously the most boring and worst teacher i have EVER had.you dont get homework and you only get graded on quizes. His lectures have nothing to do with the test, maybe 1 or 2 questions on the quiz. His movies are from like the 50's. he repeats the same lectres. most of the class wouldnt even show up half the time. and he makes no sense.

He means well but he should NOT be a teacher. I'm teaching myself and go to class only for the quizzes. The good news is that attendance isn't mandatory, but don't take him if you plan on learning much from him.

Worst teacher I've dealt with at CSM. He's difficult, judgmental, and his class was just ridiculous. Requires a ridiculous amount of memorization for not teaching anything in class. He badly screwed up our final as far as numbering and labeling, etc. to the point where everyone was confused and didnt take any responsibility for it. Do NOT take him.

I was recommended to take him for an "Easy A." That Def. was not the case. All his tests are scan tron with an occasional standard math problem or 2 on the back. The material he gets for the test is from a diff. book then what we are assigned to read. Unless you like stressing until the end with whatever grade your gonna get, I suggest stay away

Prof. Clare is not nearly as bad as people make him out to be. I had him for Psyc 121, and I can say he is solid. If you just TRY to understand the concepts and material a little bit, you can EASILY get an A. He went to Cornell and Harvard.....so the guy is smart. Just study the books and you'll be totally fine. I would highly recommend his class.

His lectures are unbelievably boring and rarely are part of the quizzes. He obviously gets the quizzes from the book's publisher because the test is 95% on the reading. He shows movies that are between 20 and 50 years old (no joke). DON'T take his class unless you are good at memorizing directly from the book. If you can't you'll fail the quizzes.

This man is a horrible teacher, he doesn't even teach! He assigns ridiculous amounts of reading and doesn't specify what is going to be on the exams. Expect to go through 100 pages and memorize every little fact for the tests. During the exams he'll play 30 seconds or less of a 10 minute composition and expect you to identify it, very unreasonable

Yes, he is late(suited me just fine!). but, a very straightforward class. adorably strange. excellent sense of humor. Very accommodating. Plus it is awesome to see his new sweater-levi ensemble every day and watch him try and work the projector. He is a very nice guy. Now go work on your Mr.Clare impressions!

Do not take Clare! This is the most boring class in the world. All he does is show movies from 1950 and drones on about things that are never on the test. You have to read 60+ pages every few weeks and your grade is based on six tests. He needs to retire ASAP.

Wow, this teacher is HORRIBLE! Shows up late everyday, we learn absolutely nothing in class,and his exams are hard as hell. Basically he assigns 60-80 pages to read and expects you to know EVERYTHING within those pages. Doesn't specify what he wants to you to know. I've been at CSM for 3 years now and he is by far the worst teacher I've ever had!

The class is all about tests. There is no homework at all. As far as teaching, you cant understand a word he says. What he covers in class isn't even 50% of what are on the tests. Most of it is reading, and a little bit on the videos that we watch in class. He's always 5-10 minutes late. Hes terrible.

Comment:

Attendance isn't mandatory, no homework, just a series of tests - not hard if you read. Very flexible, will make an appt. with you when you need to, and is also very understanding and helpful. Easily the easiest/best statistics class at CSM. He's also really funny - just sarcastic! Some people think he's serious, so they don't get it. Recommended.

I don't understand why he considers himself a professor. He doesn't teach antyhing out of the book which is basically what the tests are on. And theres test A and test B.trust me there is a difference. The tests come straight from the book company(questions are too detailed).So he really doesn't know what is on it. I WOULD NOT RECCOMEND HIM AT ALL.
