He is very stuck in his ways, and if he doesn't agree with you, your grade will show it. Not a whole lot of work involved, though.

Dr. Dooley is an awesome professor. He's a tough grader, but his Chili Cheese n' Grits - New South/ Old South class gets more and more interesting as the semester goes on. He also has a dry sense of humor that makes class really fun. Dr. Dooley is a professor you want to take, and someone who will write you excellent recommendations later on!

Unwilling to listen to students' interpretations of works. Believes his interpretation is the ONLY correct and/or valuable interpretation.

Good solid professor... gets a bad wrap from students to afraid or lazy to express their own views on papers. They claim he will not grade you well unless you talk to him and write what he tells you. That is ridiculous; I never went to talk about my papers with him and I got an A. He is not as narrow-minded as people claim.

He's the most unhelpful professor I have ever had. Knows what he's talking about and clearly enjoys teaching these classes, but difficult personality to get along with.
