Comment:

Professor Dufer is an amazing professor. The book is technically mandatory, but if you can't afford it, you only need it to answer 5 questions on each test, so if you're willing to guess on those you don't need it. Be prepared to do one group assignment (mostly done on your own anyway), a speech and interview. His grading is clear, easy to pass.

Comment:

Mr. Dufer is such a great teacher. I am terrified of public speaking but he made the class feel really comfortable. He is such a kind man and you can tell he really cares about his students. The reviews are harder than the actual tests so you are are prepared. There is only one speech, an interview and a group discussion.

Dufer is the nicest, most laid back professor you will ever have. I don't want to say his classes are easy but if you simply go to class and listen to what he has to say then you'll pass and he normally ends class early. he is the cool uncle you never had! He will be the next Dos Equis Guy because he is the most interesting man in the world!

Professor Dufer was a great professor. He is clear, organized, and flexible. In COM 101 there were 5 multiple choice tests (35 ?s, clear study guides provide for each) and 3 "skill assignments" (small group, speech, interview). You are not graded on your performance -- written answers after or criteria met during determine your grade. Fun class!

Professor Dufer has definitely impacted me in a postive way. I always looked forward to his class and lectures. You definitely want to study for tests, but as long as you participate, receiving an A is very doable. 10/10 would recommend to anyone taking any form of communications class.

Amazing professor! He is so nice and kind. He gives very good examples that go along with the different concepts. I got an A easily. The test are not hard at all and there is a study session the class before which prepares you for test questions. Participation is important in the class (and grade) , but is super easy!!

He is a wonderful teacher. He respects you. He is a sweet man; he is a great person to talk to about problems and cares about each person. He seems to want you to pass by putting you in groups to study for tests, and is concise when explaining material. He makes you talk to other classmates by doing in class assignments and discussions. Take him!

I took Oral Communication as a summer course, and the course was fast but Professor Dufer made it easy to follow through. He's a chill professor. and his lectures are easy to understand. The tests aren't hard as long as you read the assigned chapters and do the study guide!

Professor Dufer was one of my most favorite professors ever. He was so nice and caring the entire time. He made learning really fun and defiantly did some hands on activities. He was very understanding and easy to talk too. Attendance does matter in this class but missing a couple days wont hurt you.

I enjoyed this class. Participation is mandatory and you must be consistent. I found the class interesting enough that this did not bother me. I like the class interaction and the weekly discussion boards. Stay on top of your assignments, participate and when in doubt read your syllabus. He spells EVERYTHING out.

The class was overall okay, and I did learn a lot of new interesting information on persuading people. However, if I could remake my schedule I would choose to take a different class. He does first minute quizzes with just random facts. One of the big assignments is a debate. You need the workbook but you dont need to get the textbook.

Dennis Dufer is an excellent professor. his lectures are very interesting. during the coarse of his class you have to give a speech in-front of the class about something that interests you. there are five tests total through the course, in addition three textbooks are required. two of which he created himself.

Professor Dufer is the BEST professor!! I recommend him to anyone!! He is a sweet and gentle man!! Makes class interesting and respected by students!! I would take his class again!! Professor Dufer will go out of his way and help you succeed in this course!! Ask him any questions you have and he will help you through everything!!

He breaks everything down for you. On the syllabus and on rubrics, he will let you know what you need to get what grade. He knows his stuff and is very helpful if you have questions. He's also very fun and kind and it was a pleasure to take his class.

I was told by many people that Dennis was a great professor. He really is. My only concern is that taking the course online was kind of redundant. The discussions are invasive and take some time, my only concern. Tests were easy and papers were graded with mercy. Take in class if you can... online if schedule restricts.
