She was the worst professor I've ever had at this school. She is very disrespectful towards her students and isn't accommodating to those with a disability through the access office. Avoid taking her class!

you really gotta be interested in the topic to enjoy the class. Sometimes the lectures just drag on, but I guess that is the nature of an accelerated summer class. The lectures aren't inspiring so if you like it when teachers just kinda talk and throw facts at you then this is your class.

She's sarcastic, but an interesting lecturer. Just don't use your phones in class or ask stupid questions. Willing to hold conversations after class about the material and takes into consideration student interest. Took ancient history, we covered a lot of material in a short amount of time so reading was very necessary. Some essays, mostly mul-ch.

AWFUL professor. This class is honestly not a hard class at all, but Dr. Blalock is beyond disrespectful and rude. Anytime I would email her and ask her about the grade I received she would give unclear responses, just like her grading feedback. She grades in the most unprofessional and illogic way I have ever seen a professor grade.

She requires you to do more than what's expected to get an A. And she's VERY condescending and rude.

Disorganized and unclear information from a variety of sources. Professor needs to be much more clear with her instructions and requirements. Perhaps it was the nature of a condensed summer class but I will not be taking another course from this professor. Her comments seemed 'snarky' and full of attitude and that is just not necessary.

Horrendous. She humiliated her students & distracted the class with hypocrisy, was abrasive, boring, & mediocre, read her information from 10yr old power points & online sources. The test are intent on memorization of events & dates rather than comprehension. Also, medieval history equates middle eastern history. Expensive nap. Taught myself.

She is a terrible professor and does not know how to follow a structural basis. She's rude, irritating and just plain hard to follow. She knows a lot but is way too pretentious to teach. I dislike her very strongly. I'm sure she's cool as a person but she purposely makes fun of students-even ones with an obvious handicap...

I respect that Blalock knows what she is teaching but I've never had a more disrespectful teacher since I can remember. She loves making students look stupid. The class is super easy as long as you do the readings and such but I couldn't stand talking to her because she was so rude it was honestly ridiculous. Did not care for her students

She's a professor that really cares about the subjects that she teaches. You will be expected to read weekly and to participate in class to maintain your grade. If her lectures come off as off-the-cuff or informal, it's only because she's trying to keep the class engaged. I have a lot of respect for Dr. Blalock, and I would take her class again.

If you have to take history, take this online course. Prof Blalock comes across as downright rude and admits that she's cranky. Beware: if her directions are unclear WHATSOEVER, ask her immediately. Don't assume becaus if you're wrong, she'll get rude. As long as you follow her directions, you'll get an A. An easy one.

Unpredictable. Disrespectful. She expects you to be able to read her mind so try not to answer any of her questions unless you enjoy being humiliated and scoffed at. Try to avoid emailing her about the material because she gets really defensive. If you can help it, avoid taking Kay's class.

I had an interest in the course material and the professor was happy to carry on conversations with me after class about different periods and settings in a historical context. I would take a class from her again, and easily get an A, I think.

I took Kay's online class and it was a lot of work. Online classes are mainly for busy adults in my opinion and I spent most of my free time reading through chapters, posting on discussion boards, answering queries and taking quizzes. She does reply quickly to emails. Be prepared to work if you take her online class.

If you want a professor who will pat your cheeks & give you lollipops, this isn't the professor for you. I have different worldview than Dr. Blalock, so I had to stand firm for my beliefs. Know your stuff, keep the stupid at home. She is an inspiration (albeit fast) speaker, and at times a little disorganized. But an excellent prof in the end.

I thought she was a relatively good teacher, though there wasn't much interaction, probably because it was online. I could tell that when other people had issues online she wasn't very helpful but I felt like the class was pretty well laid out in the syllabus. So just abide by her rules and it shouldn't be difficult

I loved this class overall. Very easy to pass the discussion boards are weekly and if you do them according to the rules or more you get extra points every week. you have the whole semester to finish your papers. i did minimal reading because my responses were based on everyone elses. easy class to pass if you just do the discussion boards
