He is so boring!! Lectures by reading directly from the book. Gives out the syllabus with reading assignments then reads it again during class. It doesn't seem necessary to get to class on time. People walk in thirty minutes late and he says nothing.

He is so nice, really good teacher and very passionate about material. If you do not like history take his class because tests are super easy, easy to cheat, and if you do like the material you will find him very interesting.

I forget what section but Longwell made history interesting, no matter how early in the morning it was. Yes, he's tests are way easier than other professors but he makes you learn history that's worth knowing. He's a super nice guy too.

i've always struggled with memorization so longwell's class was a huge relief. he gives you a list of slides to study for the midterm/final. i personally think his lectures are interesting, he's kinda funny if you're listening. easy laid back class, my ideal art history. and because i'm not stressing so hard, i've actually learned more!

Very nice, ridiculously easy. Roughly 30 slides to study per exam, and you do not need to know the specifics. Lecture however is obnoxiously boring, since he reads from the book, and doesn't really get the class to interact. If you want a really easy art history class, this is the one for you. If you want to learn a lot, look somewhere else.

If you want a real art history class, I suggest taking Noonan. Longwell has no idea what he is talking about. He reads from the textbook and last week he skipped a slide and read the info for two slides ahead (for a completely different painting) and didn't even notice. That only shows how little he knows about what he is teaching.

This teacher was EXTREMELY boring. Hardly ever mentioned the styles of the paintings. No point in taking notes b/c he gets it straight from the book. Doesn't know his stuff, but is amusing in summing up a painting like "this is about sex", next slide. Might of been a pain to study for, but he grades nicely tests and exams.
