Comment:

I took Dexter's Psych 101 & Psychology Adjustment class in the early 90s. He was the best teacher I've ever had. His Psych Adjustment class changed my life- it was the best college class I ever took. I have the highest respect for Dexter Amend. I think he has positively impacted a lot of lives.

Dexter is awesome! He has a narrative teaching style, so you write what is important to you. If you like powerpoint and structure, I wouldn't recommend taking his class. This class is for people who are looking to make better moves in their lives. Dexter just wants people to be better at life.

Easyyyyyyy. Not too clear on expectations, but 50% of grade is notes. Rest is simple stuff like a two/three page essay, 10 hours volunteering, just soooo easy it's sad. I'll take my easy-peasy 4.0 and run. He's interesting, but the class is boringgggg and yes, he is a snoozer as someone said.

This guy is amazing. I learned more about myself in this class then I knew from 20-some years of living with me. Hated to miss a class, should have thought to see if I could have recorded them. Every single day I took home some new nugget to mull over, with a smile on my face.

This man is amazing. At first I thought he was a little crazy, but he's so on the ball! He's hilarious but can also be really serious and his teaching style is extremely emotive. He uses lots of metaphors and has a distinctly philosophical style to his psychology. Didn't learn a ton of technical stuff, but learned a hell of a lot.

I took his general psychology telecourse which was entertaining and I worked at my own pace. He has 3 tests with a test prep meeting and a meeting after testing where he goes over material. I found him charismatic and very interesting. He also grades on a curve which was good because I scored poorly and learned tons on the testscore/review days.

I thought Dexter wasn't interesting at first, but he makes learning very interesting and fun. On the plus side, no tests. Anyone who does not like to take tests should definitely take this class.

He refers to himself in third person as "the fool" which makes it hard to understand him. He rambled on about nothing at all. The main grade in the class is note-taking, we were expected to have four pages of notes every day, but he never said anything worth writing down. I would advise anyone seriously interested in learning Psych to stay away.

Went off into his own world when speaking. A lot of the conversations had nothing to do with the lecture and nobody knew how they were connected. BORING! I got a good grade in the class only because I had interest in the topic. He's a snoooozerrr! ZZZZ...

Dexter is one amazing teacher. He is dedicated and from what I understand has been around for awhile. His course is easy as long as you stay on top of the notes, vocab and stuff. He's a very funny guy and his lectures were rarely boring. Go for it. You're gonna love it!

Dexter is great. If all professors were this passionate and interesting enrollment and grades would be through the roof! Also, to repeat what someone else said he is cute in that "I have a crush on my professor" sort of way. I think it's because he comes across as so caring and believes in things I believe in.
