We read DRY classic literature that I read in high school. He'll call you out for exchanging few words with a peer, singles people out etc. We're college students, not kindergarteners. He also gave pop quizzes almost every class, without any notice. He's far out and overall a cool guy, but as a teacher he's unpleasant. Never would take again.

I got an A in his class and he really liked me, so I feel I can tell the truth. His class is way too difficult. The class environment is made very uncomfortable. Do not take his class unless you want to waste a lot of time and effort. Even writing majors don't like him.

Wow.. I can't believe these ratings for a teacher who teaches with so much passion. It's clear that he loves teaching the black lit. course, and if a professor is trying to make a point, let them, than make yours. Sure you have to read a lot, but if you can't finish a novel in 2-3 weeks, maybe you should.

Be prepared to learn A LOT, too much actually at some points. He is very intelligent and knows what he is talking about. He gives a lot of essays but gives you a personal critique attached and you can always revise for a better grade. This is college, you're supposed to have a lot of work.

the man is a biggot. aside from that he assigns too much work, doesn't clarify assignments, canceled the midterm exam and put all the material on the final exam--the final exam was IMPOSSIBLE. he also plays favorites and accuses people of plagarism (with no proof) just to scare you into taking an unfair grade.

He is a nice fellow with an incredibly intelligent way of speaking. But he puts you on the spotlight much too often. He also expects WAY TOO MUCH out of you. Too many papers and too many books. if you're a writing major: definitely take him! if your an artist stuck with an english course: stay away!
