My faculty adviser for Creative Writing. She is cold and harsh, does not have any room for immaturity. You need to grow up and be an adult in her classes. But after a while, if you act respectably, her sense of humor shows and she turns out to be an invaluable resource. Go to her office hours and sometimes she has fancy treats!

I really loved Professor Bryant. To be honest though, my first impression of her was that I was scared. Within a week though, I really loved her class and grew fond of her strictness. She is a no nonsense professor but it really works for her. Her class was tough but I learned a lot. She challenges her students because she believes in them.

Comment:
Professor Bryant comes off as tough, but it's only because of how much she cares about the class and the subject. She gives a good deal of constructive criticism and while it's true at times it seems she doesn't have anything nice to say it's only because she can see a greater potential for the work. Only be offended by lack of feedback.

Gives us a 5 minute rundown of what we're supposed to use in homework then expects us to master it over the weekend. Chooses stories that aren't clearly using what she wants us to use in our own. Very unclear. Often seems very bored in class. Makes me wonder why I put effort in if she's just going to sigh continuously while I'm reading my piece.

I have read what others have written about professor Bryant and I can't help but to agree. To a certain agree she stifles creativity, and for you to get a good grade from her, you must follow her limited directions to a tee. She gives little to no direction and grades you as if she walked you through the material. She doesn't return things either.

Comment:
Lively, sharp and intuitive of others' capabilities, she gives no shortcuts where they are not necessary, but I see this as a good thing. She forces people to think creatively and to work through their mental blocks and uncertainties in class in a seminar setting, encouraging both personal growth and a dramatic increase in writing ability/variety.

rude and disrespectful. assigns things at the last minute. assumes her opinions and point of view is always right and grades you accordingly. when she assigns a paper or quiz question you have to answer it based on her opinion or it is wrong. WORST PROFESSOR I HAVE HAD AT THIS SCHOOL!!!!!

She offers no outlet for creativity. She is also overly critical and uses this to cover up the fact she does not know what she is talking about.

I took Fiction Writing with Bryant. She loves giving out C's so beware. Follow exactly what she says and teaches and you will succeed. She is a great person, very good teacher, quiet but effective.

Great professor, incredibly intelligent, runs a wonderful senior seminar. Is demanding, but grades fairly, very knowledgable in the field of black humor.
