He's a tough grader but he gives a lot of good feedback so you can get better. All around amazing and super knowledgeable. He expects a lot of his students but you leave his class knowing more than when you entered. He does assign a lot of reading which is sometimes to much. He makes you work, but he you work. Made me a better student.

Really frazzled. Gives syllabus in two-week increments so you're kind of flying blind. 6 books in a semester with 1 class glazing over each one is ineffective. Wish he'd focus on less material in more depth because it's actually interesting. Lectures so much we never get to talk about any readings. Course is visionary, but not well-executed.

A great professor, very demanding of his students but he wants us to well and makes that very clear! His classes are very rarely lectures and almost always discussions. He is very passionate about what he teaches. Not an easy professor but make the effort and you'll benefit.

He doesn't lecture, but pretty much makes students run class.These "discussions" are incoherant and lack focus. Readings are boring, themes are not identified or carried through the course, and grading is extremely harsh. I did well in his class, but would not take him again.
