Okay, so yes everyone gives her the reputation of an awful mean teacher. but really...if you're not willing to try or aren't interested at all in the lab, then why should she be nice. I thought she was great and I was never failed on a lab report, not even close! so if you like chem you'll like her lab.

If you're not a science major, get somebody else. If you are and are able to pass off the mild verbal abuse while getting help, it's probably worth it to stick it out. Very hard marker, very unforgiving, but it will come back in good ways in every other science course you take.

Diana has a reputation and most of the comment posted are fact. HOWEVER, she prepares you for the future classes, how to do things right the first time! I Think that is a valid lesson! If you ask for help, she will help. She is a real person, not just a prof, talk to her like you would anyone else.

Would not recommend her at all. Students have a hard time trying to learn when they ask questions and she replies by either saying "are you serious?" or calling students pathetic. Not approachable because no one wants to be called stupid. If you want to do good in the lab portion of the course, get another lab instructor who is willing to teach.

She is a hard marker, but she really sets you up for later courses and will tell you exactly whats she wants on the lab report if you ask her. she often seems grumpy but I just think stupidity annoys her. SECRET to diana, ask her about her weekend or something else, she is really quite sweet.

Disrespectful and unpleasant. Replies to questions with scoffs and remarks like "are you serious?". She is a tough marker, which is frustrating, but not the basis for this bad review. It is her seeming indignity and blatant disrespect towards student and support staff. With 35 classes behind me, she is THE worst. Avoid.

Yes, she's tough and sometimes cranky, but she doesn't sugar-coat stuff. She makes it very clear that she expects nothing but the best from her class and expects university-level work from you. I liked her. The only non-coddling instructor I've run into so far. Tough marker on the lab reports but if you work hard you get a good mark.

Diana can be a very aggravating woman, but by the end of the semester she became one of my favorite teachers. Her tutorials are extremely helpful and she will answer any questions you ask. The labs are fun and interesting but she marks pretty hard.

I loathed Diana at the start of the semester; I dreaded the weekly tutorial, her nitpicking was so aggravating. But, she did break me of some bad habits and I admit that by the end of the term we were on pretty good terms. She expects a lot from her students, which is, in my opinion, much better than someone who doesn't care or expect anything.

She is a good person, so long as your not on her bad side! & it is easy to get on her bad side! She has a very specific way things need to be done, & a VERY specific time things need to be handed in! I can see how knowing how to do a really hard-core lab report will help later on, but she still takes lots of marks off for little mistakes.

She is the worst lab instructor i've ever had. Changes labs after you've already written up your procedure. Laughed when she heard my professor was letting us use equation sheets and said "if i was your teacher i wouldnt let you!" yeah? well if you were drowning in a river, i wouldnt save you! Not sure how she got as many "happy face" critiques on this thing as she has because she is honestly the worst lab instructor I ever had! Condescending is her middle name. Marks lab write-ups as if they're a thesis paper. Very rude and arrogant - showing little respect for students. Save yourself the nightmare and take your labs with someone else!!
