One of my best undergrad professors, and one of my majors was philosophy. Pay no attention to whiners about too much work. If you want to watch TV, stay at home. If you want to learn and be challenged, take her class.

Good professor. Her multiple choice exams are very hard, even if you read everything and never miss a class. The papers are reasonably difficult as well because some of them require ideas to be pulled out of ones ass. Regardless, very interesting for those serious about philosophy.

Very nice lady. Happy to help at office hours. Going to class is essential to do well on the exams. There are only 2 exams and they are 20 MC questions each. They are somewhat difficult even if you go to class and do all of the readings. However, 60% of your grade is based on 5 easy 1-page papers

Yes she gives multiple-choice exams. Yes they are easy. Why is that a problem? It is not her only form of assessment; she also gives several papers. A philosophy teacher SHOULD have convictions. I found her to be very reasonable, pleasant and app

She threw the ENTIRE class out because ONE student said he did not think multiple choice exam in a higher level philosophy class was appropriate. Yes, you heard it right, multiple choice exams, which is an unacceptable test format for a philosophy class.

I think she may appeal to students more serious about philosophy. The course is difficult, but in a good, challenging way. She is one of the best instructors in the department.
