She's a very sweet older lady, but should probably not be teaching anymore. Lectures are vague, scatterbrained and generally unhelpful. Tests were somewhat difficult but not horrible. I liked her as a person but not as a professor. Quite a few extra credit opportunities. Do not buy book even if she tells you to--I didn't and was perfectly fine.

She's very sweet and old. So you can imagine how vague her lectures can be at times. Yes her class is boring, but it's a super easy class. Not much hw or reading. If you do have hww, we go over it in class and you don't even have to turn in until the midterm or final.

She is a very sweet professor, but often seems unprepared or disorganized. Many of the assignments didn't have clear due dates, are even description of what format (whether online submission or physical copy). The main textbook is not necessary given that I still haven't even opened it. The test are open notebooks, so make sure to take notes. Easy

Prof Stover is not nearly as bad as everyone says. Yes, her class is boring and she doesn't use very many powerpoints, but she is super helpful and wants her students to understand the class and pass. There is only one essay and two tests. She gives easy extra credit for bringing your briefs to class. Tests are open note and fairly easy!

Still have not received a grade for my class. Semester has been over for weeks and I have all my other course grades. Doesn't respond to emails, doesn't use Canvas to update grades. Tests are ridiculous.

A lot of students complain about this class being hard or not knowing what to expect on exams, but if you show up to class and take good notes, you'll do fine. Her tests are open note but long, so if you don't pay attention or don't show up, don't expect a good grade. The readings aren't hard and she's willing to explain or help if you ask her

SHOW UP TO CLASS. Take as much notes as you can, youll need them for the open-note exams. 3 exams, 1 case brief, not much hw. Listening to the lectures are necessary, the tests aren't easy., chances for extra credit tho. Very passionate about law. If you're not lazy, you'll do well. I saw too many students complain about bad grades but didnt try.

Don't expect to understand her. She is scatterbrained. Her notes and powerpoint presentations have little connection to what the tests end up being. She doesn't pass back your papers either so you won't have any idea where you stand in the course. Its been 3months and the class still hasn't received any grading back.

Do your briefs and print them out the day they are due even if you are not sure if you did it correctly! You never know if she's gonna collect them for extra credit. This class took some work, but it paid off b/c I got an A+! You just need the Zelezny book. Her ppts don't really help and you should take pictures of them cause she goes fast

Do no miss class! I can't stress that enough. If you do the briefs and participate in class you'll pass. Don't fall behind on the work. The only book you need is Zelezny. You can pass without the other 2 books. She has 3 exams which are open notes. This class isn't as hard as people say. Just keep up and you'll be ok.

Do the briefs! The Zelezny book is needed! I went through class w/o the Pember/Packard book and did better than most of the class on exams. There's no final, but there are 3 exams during the semester. Sometimes your briefs can be turned in as extra credit. Open note exams. Take your laptop to class and type everything she says about the cases.

she just knows how to scare the students. that's all she knows. She avoids answering the questions, perhaps, because she doesn't have up-to-date knowledge of things. her methods are outdated as is her literature.

Stover is a great professor; she is passionate about media law and gives great examples to help students understand. Yes, it's a hard class (what law class isn't?) but her exams are open notes and she talks about everything that will be on it. Just make sure you do your briefs and attend class!

By far one of the worst teachers I have ever taken. I have came to her many times to request help and she out right refuses; she grades you on material that she does not discuss. Please avoid this professor at all cost.

Stover is very passionate about Media Law material, but she's definitely an old school teacher. She has no structure in her class and tends to ramble on about related and unrelated stuff. Her exams are VERY comprehensive and if you don't take good notes, you will not do well. Good thing was that her exams where open note, but still not enough.

Taking notes in her class was extremely difficult because her lectures are not structured and she talks about sometimes unrelated things in unorganized way. That made me to loose my interest in class and made it really hard to take notes and to focus on what she is talking about. Took it as major support (G.D) and found the class useless:( and hard

Go to class every day. Write down EVERYTHING she says, even if it seems irrelevant or scattered. The tests are open note. Do all HW and do not go on your computer in class, or else you will miss info. Follow these instructions and you will get an A+ like me.

She has good intentions and seems to be genuinely interest in your success. Her organization is poor. The fill-in-the-blank and essay Q exams focus on arbitrary terms to force you to attend class (only exams count for grade). You have no shot in hell without attending, because the syllabus is vague and promised online resources don't exist. Obey!

This is for the Graduate Level Media Law. She's a great teacher, and DEFINITELY easier than any teacher you will have in Law School. IF you are thinking about Law school and you think she's hard, don't bother with a career in law.

I genuinely feel that she's a really good instructor for the fact that she wants to see her students succeed. Very approachable and helpful if you need help understanding the cases. Media law is a tough subject in general, so the class will be hard regardless. If you attend every class and take VERY good notes, you'll easily ace the class.
