Although there are pop quizzes she often would warn us when they were so we were more prepared. The lectures are long but very interesting and she always makes a connection with the readings to what the topic of lecture is. One self refection paper that was great because it definitely wasn't a traditional paper.

Baxter is a nice enough person, however her lectures are extremely boring. It got to the point if I did not listen to music while she lectured I would fall asleep. She also had a tendency to argue with students about their opinions in a rather demeaning manner (in my opinion at least). Overall, this class was kind of easy, but very boring.

It has been over ten years since my undergrad at the Uof O, and Dr. Baxter is still my all-time favorite and most influential professor. Not only did she have expert and profound knowledge and understanding of what she was talking about, she also knew HOW to teach... and isn't that a rare and wonderful things in academia! Thank you, Dr. Baxter!

The energy she brought to the class made learning easy. It is obvious she is very passionate about the nonprofit sector as she is currently still working in it. Her lectures are very interesting and she brings in experts to talk about different aspects of the nonprofit sector. NOTE: She is very picky with her definitions on tests.

Really great teacher. Made lectures so interesting, and brought up many relevant topics in our society and would let the entire class discuss. Went to her house for dinner one time, I loved her!

Some of the most boring lectures I've ever had to sit through. Also, your whole grade is compromised of basically an essay and your final. Did not like her teaching style. Every lecture was her talking about herself which was a total snooze fest. I would NOT take this class. ALSO I ended the course with a 99.75% and she did not round up.... c'mon

Diane is a highly thought of in the Anthropology department. She is SO SO SO passionate about the 250 subject and has a lot of life experience to add to her lectures. If you are not already interested in the topic of the Middle East, you may get bored, but you do get to watch a couple great films and read some great books. TONS of reading!

Tries to brainwash by giving long lectures with her own personal opinions. Doesn't let people ask questions and can be downright rude t o students.

Good class over all, interesting topics, video's were a bit dated the labs are a waste of time if you do the reading and pay attention in class, but there mandatory. Dr. Baxter is a nice lady but clearly very far to left but at least she doesn't sugar coat it or hide it. Has allot of Anthro real world experience and shares that with her students.

All she did was feed us statistics. She was once asked a question about her slide and answered, "I honestly don't even really know what that means". Her tests are very unclear. I would not recommend this class.

she is very nice and available most of the time. The course was interesting but there was A LOT of reading(textbook+ 12 articles,15-20 pages+ 2 additional books). the midterm was pretty hard but the final was OK. she did a curve for the midterm but wasn't a good curve.

Diane is an awesome teacher! Very enthusiastic, funny, and inspiring with her work. However, there is A LOT of required reading that is essential for the midterm and final. If you have time to keep up with the reading, then it will be an easy and interesting class.

Dr. Baxter is thoughtful and interesting. She is extremely knowledgable but able to elicit dialogue in class that opposes her own. She is a gem and a rare find in professors.

Diane Baxter is one of the best professor's I've ever had. She is friendly and understands that students have a life outside of her class. She demands high quality work but provides resources for those who are motivated to learn the material.
