Dr. Lowe really cares about all her students success as teachers. She's got high expectations for her students. Some tips: buy all the supplies as needed through out the semester because half of it won't get used. Also do not sign up for a class after hers, you will NEVER get out on time at 5:20.

Dr. Lowe genuinely cares about preparing students to be successful teachers. She is very specific about her requirements, and the workload is heavy. However, this class does a great job preparing students for their future profession. The key to success is staying on top of all the assignments, as well as completing the readings.

I really like Dr. Lowe - she comes off as the elementary librarian at first, but does warm up after you've done "housekeeping," which you will do just about every week. There is a ton of reading for this class and the books will cost a fortune. Some of the classes were useful, while others were not. Make sure to respond to her emails!

Although this was one of the hardest classes I have taken (work wise), I have never taken a class that prepared me more for my career. Dr. Lowe is tough, but she cares. She wants you to succeed and is there for you with comments, concerns, and suggestions. She is truly a saint and I'm not sure how she does everything!

Best Professor I have ever had. I had heard all kinds of crazy things that scared me but she is super nice and helpful. Everything is clear and if not just ask. You will know what is expected of you from day 1 (don't be too scared/ overwhelmed, it's not that bad) I have never learned so much in my life. Best class ever!

Dr. Lowe is hard and expects a lot from you, but never in my life have I taken a class where I learned so much. She also has all the assignments laid down for you on the calendar and syllabus from Day 1, so if you look at those two religiously, you'll be fine. She's very anal about mall speak (ex. like, um), so be careful with that in her class.

You spend so much money on textbooks and other materials. Half the materials you do not really end up needing. She wastes a lot of class talking about nothing (or her family). You need to teach yourself from the books and she gives you a million duedates the first day of class and you are expected to remember them all semester without reminders.

This class requires a lot of work. Everything you need to know about ANYTHING is in the syllabus, but you are pretty much on your own to get it done throughout the semester. It will help in the long run with your career, but it's annoying while you're doing it.

If you are an Elementary Ed major you cant take this class with anyone else, so get used to her. She requires 12 books. I spend over $1,000 in her class. Not lying. You will do work every night of the week for her class. Don't talk to your table that much but respond to her a lot. You need this class to pass the MTEL

Dr. Lowe is so self-absorbed that her self-absorbtion is so interesting it distracts you from what she is teaching. She only cares about you insofar as you interest her and you will interest her only insofar as you impress her. She is a smart woman. She believes in what she teaches and she teaches what she knows. You feel a bit under a microscope

Yes, this class was overwhelming and yes, it was an incredible amount of work. I have never had a class where I learned so much, and all of it practical. If you have a chance to take this class from Dr. Lowe, take it. The hard work is worth it!

Dr. Lowe is a teacher with many expectations. Work hard in her class and she will see the effort. She is more than willing to help in most cases. It is important to care about her class because she won't let you slide. Some things are unrealistic but worth the effort. You need this class to become a teacher so don't blow it off just cause it's hard

horrible. her reputation proceeds her. she isn't demanding as much as she is lazy; she doesn't like to teach, so she makes you do all the work. unreachable. expects too much and usually doesn't collect or correct; however, if you forget it, you are doomed. has favorites. cruel to others. she is well educated but completely clueless and old fashione

Back in the 90's she was my advisor, prof, and s.t. supervisor. She demands the best out of you, and if you don't give it, she'll let you know. If you give her a reason to believe in you, she will give you everything you need to succeed. As tough as she was, I admire her dedication and professionalism. I wouldn't be the teacher I am today with her
