Diane knows little about real music history for someone who's taught the course for so long. She is arrogant, opinionated, boring, unfair, sexist, and she abuses her power. I highly suggest all male students to please consider a different college as you will not pass the 4 classes she teaches required for a music/music education major

Very Intelligent and knowledgeable. Expects students to work. Put the effort in and you should love the class if you are a music buff.

Dr. Paige forms very strong opinions, and will discuss them at great lengths. Occasionally, she employs humor, but usually very dry. She assigns a LOT of writing, and gets very particular about grammar when she can't find anything else to complain about. Do not expect inspired or modern teaching. She relies heavily on textbooks for lectures.

Dr. Paige is in my opinion the worst teacher you could get for any course. Arrogance, huge ego, blatant disregard for students, and overall unprofessional are some of the many terms that fit her. She has little respect for any music that isn't Gregorian chant and materials and projects follow her opinions. Conflicting ideas are not welcome at all.

DP was a great teacher! I didn't read the textbook for the class or do the readings and I still got a good grade. She was super easy, and didn't assign too much work. Coming from a non-music major, I didn't think she had favorites. Great teacher!

Prof Paige seems to have favorites in class (music majors) and assigns wayyy too much work at the end of the semester for a 100-level class. She has some very negative opinions about certain musicians which shows her lack of impartiality which students. Not a good teacher.

I love D.P. She was one of the best teachers I ever had at Hartwick. She was much more than a professor, she was a friend and always cared about the students and our needs. Gotta love Diane and her kitty Meet.

DP is my favorite prof. at Hartwick - She cares about all the music students in the dept and has an incredible wealth of knowledge. Her kindness and devotion to her role as a music professor and advisor are what have made my academic career at Hartwick a successful one. She is a wonderful teacher, mentor and friend. :)

To those who spent the time on homework and all of the readings, DP's classes are amazing. Those who don't will not grasp whats she's going for - you'll love her if you are ready to do the work. Slackers beware, her classes are a scholar's heaven.

Dr. Paige should not be allowed to teach at a school like Hartwick. Her lack of interest in education beyond her own teaching is minimal at best. She thinks very highly of herself, but I don't see why. Of any Hartwick professor, Dr. Paige is by far the worst person on campus. As for foreign languages, many profs speak them, they just don't brag.

I think this woman is a phony, and lets her opinions of musicians show way to much in the classroom. She lectures straight from the book for every class, which apparrantly appeals to some students. She assigns WAY to much work and does not make the class interesting.
