Comment:
There are three take-home tests given out on the first day of class. Din says to not come if you do not want to participate in class discussion. He tells you that nothing in class will cover test material and that there may or may not be a writing assignment given at some point, which you have to come to class to get. His lectures are scattered.

Same as his 101 class, he gives three scantron tests on the second day and weekly 2-3 page writing assignments. dont expect any feedback on these assignments unless you ask for it. He does not use email or phone so if you want advise you must go to his office. Attendance is not mandatory, i regularly had 3-4 people in class on any given day.

The class revolves around lectures and group discussion. there are three take home scan-tron tests he gives you on the second day and a few writing assignments that comprise of the entirety of the class grade so there is no excuse to not do well. Attendence is optional, the professor does not care whether people show up or not to his class.

If you do not attend class and do the practice problems YOU WILL NOT PASS THIS CLASS. the grade was broken down between one take home test, and a second test split between two days where you work on logic proofs. Each proof was worth 10 points a piece so missing one can bump you down a full letter grade. there is no partial credit given.

I have taking this professor for all classes that he teaches. A student must work hard, and take responsibility. He is for students who want to learn, not just passed through life easily. Mr. Jokhi is by far the best professor I have ever had. I have a bachelor's degree already, but have now taken him to prepare me how to work on Graduate studies.

I truly wanted to expand my knowledge in philosophy-until I took this class. Professor is arrogant, rude and does not seem to care about student learning. Was not expecting an easy A and showed up for every lecture until I was humiliated in front of the whole class. Would not recommend to anyone, but especially those expecting to actually learn.

Comment:
This prof could care less about the students if he feels they are objective towards his own opinions and teachings. Being this was a religion based class, coming out of it I feel like we learned nothing about the religion itself, but more of the history. His lectures were all over the place and it was hard to keep consistent notes that follow.

He is a great teacher. I really enjoyed this class. All though it was not required to attend lecture everyday it was well worth it to do so.

I was really interested in Philosophy til i got in to this class. His lectures are boring, and seems to jump all over the place. You have to teach yourself, and read on you own. He is also, arrogant, rude, and i have never in my life said i don't like someone, but i do in his case. I don't recommend him to anyone.

Please understand that if you are truly interested in Philosophy, this man is a godsend. If you're looking for an easy grade, don't even bother. He is a very old-fashioned educator, a crystal-clear thinker, and a brilliant man. Every negative comment about him on this page is from a person who expected an easy A from an easy class.

Worst professor at OC. Does not really care about students learning anything. Sometimes respects students' opinions. It's just unfortunate that he seems like the only philosophy professor at OC.

This professor is absolutely brilliant. He has a passion for teaching, which is rare even in college. Firstly, he is not an easy "A." You will need to study the material at home and attend class. If you do those two things, you will do just fine. I am absolutely sure that of the three quarters I have spent at OC, this is my best professor yet.

Mr. Jokhi is a good teacher. He is engaging with students, and has 4 take home tests that come right out of the book. If you read the material and turn in all the tests on time, it is very hard to do poorly in the class. If you dont turn in the tests , you will flunk, of course.

Class is simple. Grades are based on four or five take home tests in which students are encouraged to cooperate with each other. Attendance is not graded. Overall, A good teacher with some bad jokes and some confusion over absolute truth.

Professor Johki is direct, encourages questions. He is challenging not condescending. He asks that you challenge your thinking in order to gain real comprehension of the material. I do not suggest this class to those who are unable to assume responsibility for their own grades or emotions. You must ask questions and be confident enough to be wrong.

This was the most difficult class I have ever taken, but was well worth it. Required 25-30 hours per week of out of class studying, and many students I think failed. Do the work, pay attention, study hard, listen closely to the lectures and you'll be fine. Don't think that this is a gimme class; you will discover how wrong you were.

All take-home tests and one essay to hand in. Classes are not relevant to the tests, but covers the material. He doesn't care if you show up, but you must find out about what is due. Seems very arrogant and not interested in students succeeding. Not helpful. Class is not hard if you turn in the work. Interesting material just don't expect any help.

most people want a stamped paper not a transforming education experience hence the negative comments. he's arrogant and articulate, but if youre sincere he will allow you to express your ideas in a way few teachers do. if you need a PC environ & constant attaboys take a psych class - if you value your education and arent sensitive take his class.
