Professor Peters was a funny and entertaining lady who really kept class intresting and fun. She moves at a fast pace and it is very reading intensive, and you will be lost in class discussions without doing the readings. Overall, I learned a lot and she was very a very good prof! Would take again!

This class was the most erratic that I have ever taken. The professor was utterly unorganized and had ridiculously high expectations for the class when she barely taught us anything and rarely made it through a lecture. Do not take this course.

Very knowledgeable about France, though "Modern France" begins in the 1700s and we stayed there for a long time. Lectures are good but can get kind of boring in a 90-min class. I'm not really a history person; the textbook was pretty good-- my notes saved me. Study groups highly recommended. Very helpful in office hours but TOUGH grader.

Professor Peters is so confusing. We didn't get a single grade back from her until mid-April, so it's impossible to tell how you're doing until the semester is almost over. She expects way too much from students, and oftentimes it's difficult to stay engaged in the material. However, she is really funny!

She has great lectures. She clearly has the knowledge and is very good and keeping her class going. Unfortunately she is a slow grader and a tough grader. She has high expectations but does not tell you how to meet them. You might work harder on this 100 level paper than any other and you'll still never get an A. If you get As, expect Cs.

Professor Peters makes you work hard and then some. Toughest grader yet at St. Olaf, but makes you a much better writer and thinker. Great person and really passionate about History, but isn't one to let you slide through her class.

She is very passionate about what she teaches. However, she is not very clear about what she expects. I've gone to office hours to get feedback before assignments were due, but she wasn't very helpful.

Her classes are worthwhile. She'll make you think about the world differently. Her classes aren't easy, but it's possible to do well. She is a great lecturer. If you are thinking about taking one of her classes: Do it!

If you don't have her vision in your head for your papers/assignments, you will not do well. She doesn't clarify what she is looking for in the HW and is one of the hardest graders I've had at Olaf. She loves history and is passionate about doing it the right way. Teaching might be her calling, but grading is not.

most overrated professor here. she talks fast so people think she's really smart, but if you listen, she's mostly babbling absolute nonsense. pseudo-intellectual garbage, or regurgitating the textbook. doesn't really prepare well for class i think. also, painfully unfunny. like, seriously never funny, but always laughing at her own jokes. avoid.

I took her 3x bc I enjoyed the challenge and her teaching. She was then my advisor for my Sr Thesis, which I aced in Mike Fitzgerald's class. After all that, she refused to write a letter of rec. for law school because she "didn't know about my work ethic." I graduated top 17% law school and finished top 4/83 in moot court competition. ?????

Also had her for 210, Favorite Prof at Olaf, be prepared to spend an hour with her if you go into office hours. She has very high expectations, but cares a lot about History and about doing history the right way. If you want to learn and have incredibly interesting discussions then take her class. Prof. Peters is awesome.

The whole class was discussion based. I'm glad that she didn't use lecture, but full class discussion is all we did in class. I wish she would use other learning activites in class. She grades a lot on participation, but it can be difficult to participate when she is a bit intimidating. She expectes a lot.

One of my favorite professors on campus! Professor Peters is engaging, intelligent, and very willing to help. Assignments were difficult, but worth all the extra effort. Class discussions, and reading material on WW I was very interesting.
