Don Was one of the best. He Challenged everyone to excel and though he was tough and we always did not agree he brought out the best in you. I had his classes several times and I remember we got kicked out of a grave yard on a class trip to Ferndale. I still have a outtake print from him and I enjoyed sharing the prints with my classmates.

Don was a good professor, just do not cross or disagree with him you will her the wrath of Don. We did not have a great relationship. I challenged him and return he challenged, but I felt it was destructive for me. I really never recovered from his classes. He was too brutal on me.

Anyone who disagrees with Don method of teaching is afraid to understand the complexity of social issue. He doesnt just teach photo he makes you explore the aspect of life that make you and the people around you they are. When it comes to your work he makes you conscious, rather than self conscious. Art is unlimited and standardization is illusion.

My favorite teacher out of all my college professors. He is inspiring, always willing to help outside of class, gives great advice, and really wants his students to succeed. His class is not easy but he always has constructive and positive things to say. I would recommend him to any student who is interested in expressing themselves.

over the years I've had a few photo teachers, none of which have inspired me to look beyond the generic image until I meet Prof Anton. For once in a long time, I WANTED to attended class. Prof Anton enables students to think beyond the status quo of images. He's stern yet supportive and always felt as if I was getting his full attention.

I think he is amazing. Its all in what you take out of the class. If you choose to be the person that needs to know exactly what is right and wrong you will pry not enjoy it but if you choose to be the person that opens your heart and eyes to the limitless possibilities you will love it.

Don is the best instructor I've ever had and if you are willing to be open to new ideas of new ways of seeing your world he's your man. Also to those that think he is too easy. Take advanced with him and then write your rating then. Amazing teacher and wonderful friend.

I think that the people who don't get what they want out of the class are the ones who aren't willing to look within themselves to find something deeper. If you were unhappy with your critique it's your fault for not talking to him about it. He is amazing. He will push you to your extreme limits if you give him the chance, let him know that he can.

The common thing you will hear is this "Don is amazing" line. The real truth however is what the last poster wrote. His critiques are an absolute joke. It's an insult to call them critiques. The level of work is never elevated. He's a nice man, charismatic even, but don't expect any real analysis. If your work sucks, you'll never find out.
