Reading notes off an overhead cant keep my attention...awful teaching techniques and not very helpful in office hours. If you go and talk about your grade, he's understanding but doesn't do anything to help you pull it up. If you have AP Credit, DONT let anyone talk you into taking this class....NOT Worth it!

Chemistry SHOULD NOT be taught by reading off overheads and handouts. Before every class, you line up to get handouts for the lecture. You probably would have same understanding if you took notes home and read them. Review sessions arent helpful. If you've taken AP Chem or IB chem in high school and have recieved credit for this class, DO NOT retak

Though he is nice and tries hard, he is not a good teacher. His voice is monotonous and he made me feel stupid when I asked him a question. I did okay learning on my own from the book, and I did learn some new things, but it was a lot of extra work- make sure you're ready to put in the effort if you take this class.

Dr. Jicha is a very nice man, but a very poor teacher. It is hard to keep up in his class because he does not explain concepts well (and it's boring, too). You basically are required to teach yourself...if you are able. Very difficult!

If I had not taken AP Chem in high school, I would be totally lost in this class. Even so, he still goes so quickly and does a poor job explaining tricky concepts. On the upside, its not terribly hard to get a good grade in his class, if you can keep up...

The lectures are boring and not helpful. But Dr. Jicha does keep very good office hours and does test reviews, so he at least makes an effort to help students who seek him out. The grading scale is pretty lenient, too.

Very bad teacher, very hard class. Basically you have to learn the info yourself because he's not a good teacher.
