Worst teacher ever!!! Only take if you want brit lit permenantly ruined. He goes on and on, about material inrelevant to the class. He makes attendance mandatory but going is a waste of time. Jerk on paper grades, and doesnt even know half his****.

Norford should retire and is boring and vague as hell, but if you see him during office hours and try and show up to class most of the time and at least show that you are putting effort into his class, he'll give you a good grade. Rewrite all your papers, eventually you learn what he wants and will get A's on them, and an A in the class.

This teacher sucked. he would go off on random tangents about the books talked about in class, and I would never understand the points he was trying to get at. He never explained things well and the papers were extremely hard and unfairly graded. Do not take his class if you can avoid it!!! worst class ive ever had.

Terrible Professor!! I'm sure he means well but he just goes on and on. Classes were unproductive and a waste of time, but mandatory attendance. I loved Brit Lit in high school, he ruined it for me. Half the time he isn't even correct in material he discusses. Very harsh grader on papers.

talk to him during office hours. after receiving several poor paper grades with vague feedback, one visit and quick discussion awarded me two changed grades and no doubt helped in the a+ i received on the paper we briefly discussed.

The absolute worst teacher i've hed in my entire life. not a single helpful comment was written on any of my papers. basically, his class is an hour of his failing brains random ramblings, which only pertain to the book about 10% of the time. time for someone to retire to the nursing home!

Despite everyone elses comments,I really liked him.He does tend to go off on tangents,but they are always related to the material.You have to actually listen to him to understand him,which some people aren't willing to do.Plus hes like 80 yrs old,give him a break!He's very insightful and goes in depth on themes.Papers were only hard on grammar.

He does constantly say "you see"... but "you see" I have found the key is to actually see him during office hours, not that this time is helpful, more that he seems to grade easier if he knows who you are. The readings were awful! Never would I want to read one of these books again!

I agree with everyone that said he tells you to write your papers with your own opinion and then gives you a crappy grade for it. Granted, maybe some people are giving their own opinion and they aren't relative to the book, but I'm pretty sure that's not everyone. Wants to hear what he thinks. You'd think that because he's so laid back he would be open to hearing about other opinions, but he's not really. Nice guy though, I'll give him that.
