Comment:
Don is a really nice guy, has really funny personal stories. However his lectures seemed very bias to his personal opinion and were also so hard to follow, which makes the content on tests hard to understand. He also tends to make sexual references a lot in class, which can get old. My grade dropped dramatically for missing classes also.

He's a nice, approachable guy. However, he is not the best prof. I missed 4 classes the entire semester (I commute 45+ minutes to class), and he put my attendance grade in as 0/100. He is a bit unorganized in lectures which makes the tests hard to study for. Our class testing average was 60% or less on every test because no one knew the material

Get ready to do heavy amounts of reading. If you read, you will pass. He doesn't try to trick you on tests and frequently gives really helpful study guides. Usually wears pretty nice hats and tells philosophy jokes at the beginning of every class.

This class is a joke, we didn't follow the syllabus at all, random group assignments for the book we didn't use the entire semester. I watched so many movies in his class it was ridiculous. I would recommend another teacher.

Recently took his PSY 102 class and it was the best learning experience. His lectures are interesting as he gives real life examples that make it easy to remember text book definitions. He is a caring, supportive professor who encourages students to do their best.

I guess I only have 350 characters, so I'll do the bullet points: --Not qualified to teach Philosophy --Blatantly borrows Powerpoint presentations from his colleagues, but doesn't have the capacity to explain them. -- Can't spell, or write a coherent sentence. -- Assigns readings on D2L the night before class, because he forgot to mention them

His old world attitude clashes in an emerging and diverse campus. Only instructor I would not recommend.

If I lived my life based on cultural attitudes from the 50's then I might have let his bigoted comments fly. Unfortunately, he is so completely out of touch, being in his class is like being part of an episode of Mad Men - only not as entertaining.

Don was a great professor this semester for PHI 111. He is an ex chaplain from the military. He is a jolly older guy who will rant quite a bit, and get the class discussion heated. Easy A as long as you do what he tells you, and actually read the book.(Dont be late, either!) Take his Saturday morning hangover philosophy class at CCD.

Fun class. He hypnotized 5 students toward the end of the semester. He even surprised the skeptics. He follows the textbook, but adds a little flavor by showing a few videos. Easy A if you do what he says. He offers extra credit, which is a plus to me.

Peterson lectures, mostly, from the publisher's presentations, but will occasionally show interesting videos in class. If you do anything for this class, let it be the study guide. If you do the study guide for every chapter, you should not have any problems with the tests.

Military Veteran and Military Chaplain. Does'nt like students being late to class. Constant changes and adjustments to syllabus. Be prepared to READ from a minimum of three books in the Philosophy class. But does help students with grades if work is turned in. Hard on books but will help you on the grade.
