I graduated BU ~6 years ago. Looking back on it, Dr Schertz was one of the better EE profs. He's a bit gruff but if you can get past that he will actually help you out quite a lot. He does like PwrPt a lot.. sorry folks, get used to it. You'll be seeing that for the rest of your life only worse.

The man lives in his own fantasy world. For no good reason, our first project was to create an ISA card using a defunct chip. No one had any idea how to do it, and he didn't help. He assumed we'd all had his 365 class, which apparently explained how to do it...

Nice guy, over relies on power point. Teches too much in theory with no practical practice until the project at the end of course. (Throws you into deep end of pool imprperly prepared.)

Very difficult to understand. He thinks and teaches at very high levels and has a hard time understanding that others don't already know the material.

He knows his stuff to the point where he can't teach the material in a effective manner. It is beyond the students comprehension. Gets mad when you ask questions about something mentioned in class for about 5 seconds.

Nice guy, but terrible teacher. He is very bad at lecturing and expalining concepts to students. Too bad since he teaches some very interesting subjects. I enjoyed the class, but he made it very difficult to do so.

Comment:
cooky...poorly structured lectures. He helps if you go to his office. Mistakenly assumes that the concepts he teaches are trivial and that the student can grasp them easily, so he tends to talk over the students heads.
