Comment:

Well for starters I really enjoy history so I didn't have trouble paying attention maybe unlike others. But participation and engagement is necessary: be curious and ask questions! Dr. Walker is super knowledgeable and is a very excellent teacher. Be warned though, 80% of your grade comes from just 3 exams and one scholarly book review.

I am taking his online class. After half of this semester, all that has been assigned is a textbook. No supplemental resources have been provided. He has been of minimal to no help on the discussion board, which is mandatory for students but strangely absent of the professor. Most of the other students seem lost, and tests are inaccurate.

I am taking Walkers online summer course. I had trouble with his first quiz so I emailed him asking what he is looking for on his tests. He told me to take practice quizzes as that is where he draws from. I got 100% on 480 practice questions before midterm, and still got an 84% on the midterm and I had to guess on many of those.

I love history but he made it insanely frustrating. I am younger then most ACC students and he learned that and started to think I was stupid. So, if your not young I'm sure he's okay but if you are he is awful. All your questions are stupid and obvious to him even if they aren't.

I have never liked history. In fact, I kind of hated it! After taking this class, I am seriously considering taking all of his classes. He's super clear in his lectures and makes sure the class is interesting. He has a very sarcastic sense of humor and uses it a lot. Overall this is my favorite history class of all time. Walker is amazing!

Love Dr. Walker, he is a great teacher. All you need to do is go to class, take notes, and do the study guide. He will never test you on what he does not teach you. He makes history fun, it's not painful to sit through a lecture at all.

Dr. Walker was the best teacher I had at ACC! He made History interesting and seemed to know everything! Attending class is definitely necessary to do well in the class, especially ontests! Dr. Walker is very enthusiastic and is also easy on the eyes! He made something that seemed boring...interesting. In fact, I took two classes from him!

Dr. Walker is an enthusiastic teacher who is obviously passionate about history. His lectures make the class interesting, even for those who previously had no interest in history. I have taken 2 of his classes and plan to take more. Tests are hard, 10-12 page research paper is require for class. Walker is attractive so that helps. ;-)

I had no interest in history until I took Dr Walker's class. He gives tough tests but all the information you need is in his lectures - ATTEND CLASS! Dr Walker is very good about making himself available for extra help if needed also. I wish he taught more classes than he does. I'd take them all1

Dr. Walker is great! I was never interested in history until this class! He made every class interesting, telling it in a story-like way. His tests are rigorous with a lot of essay, but as long as you attend class and take excellent notes, you'll be just fine!
