Comment:
Difficult but worth it if you really need to learn the material. Stay on top of the material and you will be fine but if you get behind there's no coming back. Don is a little intimidating at first but knows what he's talking about. Homework is option, attendance is necessary to pass.

His lectures consist of him doing examples from the book on the board, while not explaining how the process works. READ THE BOOK IT'S MUCH MORE HELPFUL.

Terrible teaching tactics. writes on board the whole class and stands in front of writing so you cant see what he is writing. after writing on board he erases it immediately so notes are always incomplete. he writes in hard to read handwriting. and his tests are too long and hard for the entry level course.

I think E. Don is adorable. From the second he walks in to class, he asks if there were quesions about the optional HW and then goes straight to writing on the board. He also routinely scattered the entire class around the chalkboards for practice problems, which was helpful. His tests were fair and challenging but not intentionally super hard.

I had him for a janterm. I thought the class would be fun but I understood about three days worth of lectures and nothing at all any other day. He didn't explain anything and seemed to think anyone asking a question was stupid for not understanding. Unless you're crazy good at math don't take his class.

I was a math major and only took stats from him for my comp sci major. It was the only math class I had from him and I am so glad. My father passed away during the semester and I made a C on the following test and made 100's on everything else. He still gave me an A- for the course. He seems very uncaring.

The class starts off easy for those who had AP Cal in highschool. From there on out, if you can't write down everything he puts on the board in a coherant fashion, you're SCREWED, and if you can't make sense of what you've copied down, you're even MORE SCREWED. Consult outside sources for help

This is my favorite prof at AC. He comes across as the typical college professor but is really a very cool, helpful, fun guy. He makes me want to be a math major.

Mixed feelings. Explains things well sometimes, but often has a problem answering questions during class, in the middle of teaching. Makes this difficult for note-takers.
