Awful and mean. Very hostile to students who asked questions or tried to ask for justification for his answers. I couldn't get an answer out of him that wasn't threatening in some way

Class is the most work I have ever done at Pitt but it is totally worth it if you want to pursue a career in digital hardware design. Don't think of Don as a teacher but more as your boss. He will assign you a job and you are expected to complete it. welcome to the real world

Comment:
The class was really interested but the projects are long. He gives you a lot of time for the first two projects then tries to squeeze in the last three which are the most work. Don and the TAs is really helpful. Sam is good. Joe tries to be a professor and always answers your question with a question. Be prepared to spend many nights in the lab.

You need to work for every point you get. Start early on projects and you will have a much easier time. The last thing you want is to do is start last minute because you probably won't finish. Chiarulli is ok, but hard. Also, be positive and don't complain. Chiarulli is a reasonable guy unless you decide to complain about too much work.

worst professor ever. does not understand what "prerequisite" or "curve" means. will leave the class an hour early (if he shows up). does not care about teaching. too bad he is the only one who teaches this class.

Class takes up more time than any other in your schedule (possibly all others combined). He is a nice guy, but he will push you through material causing hard due dates to meet. Good luck if your a CoE

Class involves A LOT of work - plan on living in the 367 lab on nights and weekends. Class would be almost intollerable without the TA's - great job! Projects are interesting, but deadlines are hard to meet and require a lot of work - you will definitely earn your grade in this class.

He plays the boy who cried wolf game with his students. Makes up a deadline off the top of his bald head, drives students to work ridiculously long hours such that their other classes suffer, and then he moves the deadline. Seems like he's a disgruntled employee that couldn't make it in the real world, and putting students down boosts his ego.

Uninvolved and uninterested...lets his TA do all the work. He did buy us pizza on the last day of class so maybe not a bad guy. If you're a CoE, you don't really have a choice in the matter.

I can remember how bad he was, and I took his class 3 years ago. In those 3 years I can't remember coming across another human being that is so undeservedly impressed with himself. If it wasn̢۪t for some solid TAs, that class would have been much worse.

This man is a waste. He is so arrogant that the stuff drips from his greedy-looking face. He is unhelpful in class, and does not concern himself with teaching in the least. His TA Jason is the only saving grace, and he is leaving. 1502 is doomed.
