It appears that not much has changed from past reviews. Personally, I wouldn't recommend Prof. Wingfield. Long lectures where it's difficult to keep up with notes. It's hard to participate in class if your opinion isn't similar to hers. The papers aren't that bad though just a bit lengthy.

I agree with some of the other comments that say note taking is difficult in Dr. Wingfield's class but she is happy to repeat things. I found it useful to develop some type of shorthand and tune in to main points. The papers topict are complex but clear and she grades very fairly. She is an amazing and thoughtful professor and woman.

This class was very difficult for me. I met with her in her office hours and I still had a hard time in her class. Her lectures were very difficult to take accurate notes, and you had to quote her lectures in each paper that you write in the class. Would never recommend it

just wrote my first paper for dr. wingfield - she's got to be one of the most intelligent people in the world, though sometimes it seems like she's holding that over our heads. speaks in a very random order, have to go back through your notes again and again to piece the puzzle together. if you're up to the challenge you'll learn a lot from her.

Dr. Wingfield is a nice person. However, as a teacher, she is absolutely horrible! Taking notes is impossible, since the lectures and discussions aren't related! There are five, five-page papers which she grades *extremely* hard and doesn't even give any clear questions to answer. And don't ask her to repeat/explain anything - she gets really mad.

She a good teacher I guess. Notes are hard to take sometimes but her class was fun; she played movie and song clips and used other types of multimedia to keep our interests. She is a feminist thought and likes to discuss women a lot.

Thought she was an okay professor at first, but now I don't think so, lectures are impossible to take notes on and won't even need class notes to write papers, kinda makes comin to class on Tuesdays seem pointless, should be 1 day/week!! It seems like she loves to hear herself talk..Don't think I would take another class with this Professor again!!

She is a horrible teacher, taking notes in her class is out of the question. She assigns you readings in which you have to lead a class discussion and will insult you in front of the whole class if she doesn't approve of your class lecture. Who ever takes this class, all I hjave ot say is GOOD LUCK!!!

Just awful. Never shuts up about her kid and her paranoia over the government watching her, which is nowhere near relevant to European History. Lectures abstractly, good luck taking notes. On the upside, she is easy to figure out and cater to if you want a good grade. Not recommended if you want to actually learn anything.

An interesting lecturer, but tries to steer the course too far into areas she finds more interesting (feminism) not always relevant to the course. Generally intolerant of opposing viewpoints, and will embarrass the ignorant. That said, students willing to accept her idiosynchrasies will enjoy her.

OK, I can accept who she is, but she did insult me on multiple occasions for no good reason. First, for my political beliefs, and then for my career choice (which she made the same comment to me, only months apart as if she had forgotten about the first insult).

I am a LIBERAL, but her antics were totally whack! During a class on WW II, she blathered on about the evil boy scouts and the problems of gender/sexuality. Ostercized students for having different views than her own, move to berkely.

Entertaining but EXTREMELY liberalist. Tends to not say what she means. Said I wouldn't fail the course all semester then gave me a D. While she knows her stuff, her approach is not the best. Too much focus on gender and sexuality in class. And so on.
