I had Dr. Fisher my third semester at NCCC. There are no opportunities to slack off in his class. Slacking off lead me to not finish the Midterm research essay that he assigned to us. He'll grade you hard on the test and the paper but show up to class and do the work and you'll pass his class. His grading criteria is not clear at all.

while he was a very nice guy, his lectures were not very consistant and he often times tended tk drift the subject he is talking about. I was always lost and confused and I am a very good student. Wouldnt take this class unless youre strictly and auditorial learner.

This class is not an easy A, so don't register if that's what you're looking for. I found his lectures extremely interesting, his tests difficult but doable, and thought that he was very into what he was teaching. Having prior knowledge about history is very helpful in this course.

I'm a FT student, 5th semester, in my 30's, who is in two of his classes, and I work a job, and I still manage B+ and A-'s on the tests in both classes. He is a first-rate lecturer and the reality is that his class is mostly composed of 1st-semester students expecting veritable cheat-sheets while they browse instagram on their phone in his class.

Extremely good class if you're in to history. Do not take the class if you're looking for an easy History credit, he will make you work for it. Other than that, he's a great teacher. Just take notes and do the reading and you should get at least a B.

Tests are impossible, it's like he's trying to trick you. Even when you think you're right, you're probably wrong. Assigns many long books to read and movies to watch. Not interesting content.

Doctor Fisher is a pretty good teacher! He outlines everything you're going to do throughout the semester in the syllabus, but beware of the term paper he assigns. You CANNOT procrastinate on it, or you will not get a good grade, and it is the only assignment he gives all semester, so give it your all. Lectures are decent, but he can ramble.

There is a lot of material that has to be covered, so expect to do plenty of prep for his tests. He is a great teacher but defiantly makes you work for your grade. If you like a challenge I recommend him.

This class is very hard. I speak from someone who had a perfect 4.0 for two years until I took his class. Covers so much material in a very confusing way-nothing relates to each other. Tests are very long and confusing. In order to do well, you MUST have a good understanding of history and be into it. Looking for an easy A? Sorry not here.

He makes a point of saying, "I'm not a professor, I'm a historian," at the beginning of every semester. & he's absolutely right. His teaching methods are horrible (notes, reading, & lectures - that's it). His tests are absolutely impossible. Having to take his classes has ruined my perfect GPA. I DO NOT recommend him. Save yourself the trouble.

I sat around kids in class who got 70's or below on the tests... I barely studied and never got below a 96.. always first one done. Not hard at all. Good guy, good teacher, helpful... looks like daniel craig. Wished he used more multimedia though
