Comment:
He is lenient on his attendance. It's not hard to pass the class if you look up the documentaries online and read summaries of the assigned reading. His tests are not difficult at all if you look up the information in advance. The only major issue is that lecture is so incredibly boring that it is easy to fall asleep. His voice is very quiet.

Course material was interesting however the vast majority of it needs to be learned out of class. Most of his online links and sources have dissapeared and you must do much of the research yourself. The tests are easy but Hill is not a fan of you skipping class, despite it not making a difference to performing well or not

your only grade in this class will be the three exams which you will not be prepared for because the notes given are not as clear-cut as what's on the exam. He can be funny at times, but most students fall asleep anyways. He is a nice man who loves to share his life stories a bit too much. He'll talk about his life more than whats on the test.

Not only is he funny, he's intelligent, worldly, a great story teller, and he is passionate about what he teaches. One of my favorite classes, would take another class with him in a second. Found his tests easy, and was happy to do work for his class - there really wasn't even to much work required.

Professor Hill is a wonderful professor. He isn't scared to share is opinion, true, but he is a wealth of knowledge. He may talk about his life, but experience is something we can all learn from. Tests ARE hard, so study! He is VERY helpful, seek him out whenever you want, he loves to help his students whenever possible.

He is a really nice guy and has by far the easiest final ever. His tests are hard but get easier as you go. He gets off topic and some of the material that he tests on I swear he did not teach. He gives "pop quizzes" which if you take you get 100 on. They are basically his way of taking attendance and they boost your grade.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. I am a freshman and have A's in every class except this one. I will probably get a C or D. Exams are harder than material covered in class. Not always willing to help. He just sits at the podium and talks. Very boring, goes off topic, and doesn't put effort into his job at all. Don't ruin your GPA for a gen ed.

This class is incredibly boring, there are two essay test throughout the class and one for the final. He gives you the essay question a couple days before hand and allows you to being in a piece of paper full of notes. Just be prepared for the tests and you will do fine.

Not exactly the best teacher, but he makes do with what he has, which is a wealth of experience in the Caribbean. Some of his discussions are extremely dry where they should'nt be. Try to avoid, but if you need a class that sounds (and should be) relatively interesting, take it.

Tests are easy, straightforward multiple choice. The hardest part of this class is sitting through his boring lectures. I learned mroe about his life than I did world cultures. You have to read 3 novels, which are kind of interesting but 1000+ pages total. good scholar, interesting guy, but bad professor. boring but easy and waste of time.
