I'm very surprised at reading these negative comments about him. I thought his class was straight forward, he had a good sense of humor, interesting guy and a very handy textbook too. Homeworks weren't overly demanding. Midterm was pretty easy and he gave us a take-home final! Would recommend for this class absolutely.

one of the meanest instructors I ever had at Davis in the last 3 years. Avoid him. Does not help you outside class. Does not care about students. Write ineligible at the bard. Does not really care that students can see clearly or that they understood. Thinks too much of himself and puts down the students. Rude and arrogant person.

Excellent prof! Very funny, freakin smart and knows how to lecture clearly. He gives a ton of information but it doesn't seem like it. Lots of entertaining stories (most of which involve him saving the day with his genius-ness). Highly highly reccomended. Favorite prof at UCD. Grades fairly.

Very smart, actually works in the feild that he teaches. Has done research and actual work, so very knowledgeable. Style is not textbook or like other teachers. Fun stories and jokes, homework optional, but suggested. Will help you if you come to him.
