Had him for Chm 115 & 116. Doesnt give you structured notes. He picks out random problems & does them. Get the textbook & do problems in it & get Pavlacs power points from someone. Sapling brings your grade way up. Do the practice exams! Not hard to get a 3.0 if you put in the work. Goofy guy. Much better 1 on 1 with explaining & clarifying

Hard class if you put in no effort like me. Practice exams are exactly like the test. Do them a few days before the test & go ask him questions you have from the practice test cause you will see it on the test. Do all of the sapling homework! & if you do, you can easily get 90%+ on it. Get the real text book & take your own notes/other profs notes

Mencer is an unusual guy that a fair amount of people are going to unlike, but his class isn't impossible. Do his practice exams as they are a big help for studying. Don't be afraid to ask questions even though it can seem intimidating.

Awful teacher. He claims that he shouldn't even be a teacher at all and that he isn't even qualified...thing is that he is totally right!!! He uses a book that he wrote and doesn't make any sense at all. Stay away from him, even if it means having to redo your whole class schedule.

I don't understand how people could do so bad on his tests when he practically gives you a copy of it beforehand! Plain and simple, he's a great professor who I am taking again next semester. People who complain about how hard he is obviously don't put in the time outside of class to do his practice problems and practice tests and quizes.

I should really take the high road, but I am goning to be honest. If you get him for class either drop to 95 or get another teacher. He is disassociative and disinterested in students who try and understand the material. He doesn't listen unless it is chemistry. And if you don't laugh at his jokes he'll call on you.

Its a tough class, but atleast he speaks English and you could understand him. In the beginning, he's really tought, but he losens up after the first to chapters and weeds out the people that don't belong in the class.

Dr. Mencer is a good teacher. He explains things clearly and moves at a fast pace. He expects a little thinking on your part for the test, but his questions are fair and the tests aren't nearly as bad as people say they are. Study and you'll be fine.
