Comment:

I had him for a 3 hour long block once a week, which could be a struggle at times, but he has a funny sense of sarcastic humor, and is entertaining to listen to during the lectures. He also let us out early a lot. As long as you pay attention to his powerpoints and actually put in effort, you'll be fine. You don't NEED the textbook- but it helps.

I had him for Planet Earth, he's a sarcastic guy and has the same sense of humor as me so I enjoyed his lectures and didn't think they were boring. Exams were all multiple choice and 25% of the grade was from taking the exam open book/open notes/ and with classmates. I paid attention in class and didn't have to study much and did well.

Had him for Planet Earth, which was pretty difficult for no other reason than it being super boring. Fell asleep multiple times during his 3 hour lectures. On the bright side, each test has a portion worth 25 points that you complete with the rest of the class, so you basically get a free 25 points per test

He's a pretty good teacher. Posts the lectures so you don't have to go to class, but go anyway.. lecture is interesting . Exams are worth most of your grade and they are not multiple choice. It can be difficult to take notes in class because he goes through slides pretty quickly. Textbook is not needed. Exam questions are from lectures. No curve.

Comment:

By people saying this is easy, it is easy for science compared to the bio and chem classes. You have to show up and study and it still makes no sense. Only did good because everyone else in the class did bad too and there was a curve. Must study hard for this and understand it, not just the power point slides

First off don't ask the guy any questions or he'll Barrade you for not listening. Second guy doesn't round grades at all and if you go to the bathroom for one second and miss an iclicker question you do not get any participation for the whole class. A lot of frustration for being an "intro" level class. Department backs his unorthodox approach

DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS!!!! SOOOOOOO boring and hard. The final grade won't curve , this really makes this class become very difficult. You should attend every class because Icliker will be used and count for attendance. There are four tests for a semester, each one of them take 22% of the grade. And these tests are very very very hard.

This wasn't the worst class, but I wouldn't really recommend it. He is funny and tries to make the class interesting, but the material is very boring. He gets angry if no one in the class participates, even though anyone barely retains the information and is clearly there to just fulfill a requirement. He's not a bad guy though.

Honestly one of the worst professors I've taken at Rutgers. Extremely boring, it doesn't help that the classes are long. He gets angry when people use their phoneslaptops. Tests are pretty hard they have nothing to do with the material learned in class and are unrelated to the study guide he gives you. NOT A GPA BOOSTER

Easiest natural science class offered at Rutgers. This man knows that everyone in his class is taking it to be lazy, and he's perfectly fine with that. He posts all his Powerpoints online, very little homework, no textbook required. You have to show up to do iClicker. I cannot stress enough how easy this class is and how cool a teacher he is.

Just study the powerpoints the night before and you'll get at least a B. It's boring as hell, but he tries his best to make it interesting. It's not self explanatory like some other classes, but none of the exams are cumulative. It's worth taking if you want a class that just meets once a week.

For the love of all that is holy, DON'T EVER TAKE HIS 3-hour class if you know you can't focus for 3 hours straight on geology. His powerpoints are the most unhelpful, jumbled things ever and he rambles a lot. His "study guides" are word docs with a list of things to know. I'll pray for you if you even think about skipping his class (Go to class).

Come on. Anyone whose says this professor or class is hard is a joke. Go to class, remotely pay attention, study the night before and you should get an A. At the very minimum a B+. Youre not gonna get an A by doing absolutely no work, but you should with minimal work.

Took "Planet Earth" Pretty easy class. Boring but easy. Just have to show up, and study the slides for the exams. He is a nice guy. I was one point away from a B+ and he gave me the one extra point. I would reccommend this class. Possible GPA booster

SO EASY ITS RIDICULOUS the exams are a joke as long as you put in a days work of effort. four short exams. Aced them all. Class is boring becasue its three hours but once a week isnt bad so you go stoned or do work there its not hard at all honestly

Planet Earth should be called Planet Hollywood. Every single slide has a movie. Class is only fun if you are stoned or like looking at rocks. Monte is very verde. Watching paint dry is more fun than this class.

Comment:

He uses the Iclicker for attendance so you have to go to class. The exams are on a lot of information but he lets you take the test twice. First alone (75%) and second talking to others and using your notes.(25%)
