If you're taking this course you either have a lot of time to dedicate or make this your only course for the semester. He doesn't care about content so long as the formula is DIRECTLY from the book is there. Also, complimenting is hard for him. All my rough drafts apparently sucked but magically I'd receive a great grade without fixing anything.

At first, I was skeptical and felt overwhelmed as there are a LOT of assignments. Plan wisely! However, as long as you show interest and effort he will do what he can to make sure you understand and improve as needed. Definitely ask questions! Each online course is very different but if you genuinely want to become a better writer - take his class.

Is not clear and not responsive when student shows concern about their grades through out the semester. His feedback is not helpful because it's copy and pasted the same response on all assignments .

Horrible professor. He isn't helpful as he claims he is. He's a college writing professor and I'm finding myself undecided about what to do about this class. His grading system is awful and he's rude. I put so much more effort on this class over my other courses but luckily I'm still doing so much better on my other courses. DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS!

I had to withdraw from this class because I couldn't keep up and give my other classes the time they needed. The workload was ridiculous. He's is not helpful, forgiving or patient at all. Do yourself a favor and try to find another class.

I'm usually not one to complain about course-work. But by the 2nd week he had already assigned 1/3 of the reading material. The amount of work he scheduled took me nearly 15 hours to complete. His idea of a "rough" draft is a completed paper. I couldn't believe the amount of work he had assigned. Boy do I regret picking this professor.

Veitch is very contradicting. He often wrote rude comments that made you feel as if you failed but magically have a decent grade. Once I got an A on a paper but he had to point out that my essay lacked in a lot of areas? Like I didn't realize it was so hard to actually say something nice. Unless you know how to write papers, DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS.

The feedback I received from Prof. Veitch was useless, in that he would contradict himself constantly. He is crass, rude and full of himself. Do yourself a favor and pick any other professor. He is more focused on format than on helping students comprehend the material.

I had a very good experience with professor vetche. I am very surprised to read the negative views. Perhaps as times change, so to does the quality of professorship. I took a class with him in 1994 and would certainly consider him again for future education .

I took ENG 112 with him and though it was the only class I took durign this semester, the workload was bigger than for my usual 4 courses/semester combined. On top of that he is very unfair e.g. giving one student an F for a homework while letting another submit a corrected version. He is also the rudest professor I ever had. Stay away!

I'm taking this web based and I'm actually doing well in the class, but the professor is horrible. He cares more about the format being exactly like the book than he does about the content. Also, you don't know what to change on final drafts, I actually got a copy/pasted response from my first paper on to my second paper. Ridiculous.

I had him for my college writing II online course, and it was the worst experience I have ever had! I believe I'm a good student. I got mostly A for my other classes, and some B (I took more than 15 classes so far), and I got a C for his class. The comments he returned was so unclear, and I had no clue how to improve my writing for the final draft.

I took the online course with this guy. Not only ws he travelling across the country when my class was going on, but he hardly ever had internet and was INCREDIBLY hard to get a hold of. He was totally unhelpful and got mad when you werent abe to read his mind

In class discussions, he doesn't correct people when they're wrong. Your papers have to be completely formulaic-- if you don't follow the book's example exactly, he'll mark you down. For the final poetry project, he didn't provide any guidance even when asked. Even his papers lack comments.
