Comment:

This class was a pain. Zalewski was unfair at times and never really explained anything correctly. He played favorites and was very critical on tests and quizzes. At times, he was a pretty nice guy, but I don't think he knows how to teach very well.

Guy is old and pretty nuts for the most part. Pay attention in class and take good notes do your homework. VERY VERY VERY METICULOUS on tests. Class is not as easy as it sounds!

Zalewski isn't really that bad, just go to class and do your homework. if you have trouble go to him and get help. however, the study sheets for the tests usually don't help and hes very picky about certain things like spelling. for the most part i never had a problem with him.

I wish I could avoid this guy. He is a hardass on tests. If you get something wrong, be prepared to hear how stupid you are. It's a learning experience, and he needs to be more lenient.

Too bad we can't avoid this man. He is the most unfair person that I have ever met. He degrades people and tries to make them feel stupid and grades his tests based on favoritism. You can get the right answer and still lose 5 out of 6 points on a test question. I hope he retires soon-or gets fired.

This is my 2nd time attempting his class. He is a very tough teacher- especially grading your tests. Very frequently, stuff on test is not taught on class. I agree with the idea that he picks favorites.

The man needs to retire. He is simply not doing any of us justice at the University. He plays favorites and you better be on his good side. He tests somewhat unethical. The last time I checked you were not tested on mental math in schools.Trying to fail a large number of students in teaching.BAD

The way he grades his tests is insane. On a 5pt problem it is not uncommon to get 2 pts even though you may have understoood the concept and gotten the right answer. If you spell a word wrong and forget to label things or don't explain why you got the answer right, you're screwed.

I learned a lot from Zalewski, but because he tends to play the favorites game, I got a higher grade than I really should of, whereas the girl who sat next to me got points taken off for random things like capitalization, or writing her answer too close to her work. He hates to admit if he's wrong.

Look at the other ratings...he DEFINITELY picks favorites. Either you'll love him or hate him. He's a decent teacher, but grades tests highly on favoritism. If you take him, just hope you are lucky enough to be on his good list.

He's a horrible teacher!He is so picky on everything and TRYS to get you to fail his class. He says one thing and does another all the time, and he doesn't even teach you what he asks on the tests. A lot of the time the tests are REALLY hard just because they have questions he never went over.

He was so picky on the tests that you could hardly ever get a good grade. He tricks people and doesnt like to see you do good on anything. I was having trouble and I went to his office to talk to him, and he told me to do the homework, which i did as well as attended study groups. DONT TAKE HIM!!

Class is not difficult unless you don't show up-- no reason to get any worse than B+ unless you like to smoke blunts before class... Zalewski is straight, knows how to teach, and he will hook you with a good grade if you show him some respect.

He's got high standards, and he'll tell you that off the bat. Just pay attention and study, talking to him won't really help. I like his teaching style though, his class was really helpful.
