Dr. Kieser is a great prof! She is really organized and very concise in her lectures. I found myself laughing a lot, and really engaged with the material. Dr. Kieser is a professional and expects professionalism from students- but these expectations are refreshing. I would super recommend this course- engage and you will enjoy it!!

Awesome class!! one of those classes that you take because you love it, not because you have to. Dr. Kieser is stern but her tests are pretty easy and she really keeps you engaged. Definitely recommend.

Dr. Kieser was an excellent professor. The class is definitely not an easy GPA booster, but the subject matter is interesting and relevant regardless of one's religious views. I'd definitely recommend it.

Doris' class time is pretty interesting. However, she obviously has favourite students and if she doesn't like something that is said she can be mean. That said, her classes are interesting and she selects good readings. She also is a tough marker on essays.

Doris Kieser is a fantastic and incredibly smart prof. She expects you to be on top of readings and to participate, but she is understanding and open-minded. Go to class, not just for grades but because each one is fascinating. Lectures are clear and organized. She cares about her students and welcomes students of every faith or non-faith.

I will not take another class with Dr. Kieser. Expectations on written assignments aren't clear, participation is mandatory and you can be made to feel, somewhat lacking, if your answers aren't what she feels they should be. She is funny and does have an interesting perspective on ethics. Overall, however, not the best prof available for CHRTC.

Expect to read or else you will not pass, (readings are relatively short though). She posts nothing online so be prepared to come to class and copy them down. Extremely friendly and helpful semester, genuinely cared about her students. She definitely appreciates those who converse with her. Tests are largely based off of the readings. Great prof!

I took 352 with Doris because I loved her CHRTC 351 Sex and Marriage course! However, do NOT take Bioethics unless you have a background in Biology. I am predominantly an Business/Arts student and did not understand half the class discussions. The course material is interesting, but beware Doris teaches with clarity and expects clarity!!

Dr. Kieser is the best teacher I have ever had. Do not let the essay intimidate you and be sure to meet with her to discuss your topic/thesis. I took this class in my 1st year, and I suggest you to do the same. Also, do not let the Christian aspect of the course be the reason you decide against enrolment. I am agnostic and never felt uncomfortable.

Doris is the best professor at the UofA. She is extremely well educated but also very down to earth and cares about her students. I found Bioethics to be extremely interesting and not overbearing on the Catholic side. This course was a seminar course, so we basically had discussions the entire time. Take her clas1s and you will NOT be disappointed

Great prof, class material is interesting and attendance is a must. read the materials before class and you will do fine. It's difficult to impress her on your paper, she's a hard marker. Watch out for terminology she'll dock you marks if you miss terms discussed in class. Don't forget to include theology in your paper or marks will be taken off!

I was very enthuastic about this class early in the term but slowly decreased interests the following months. Pure memorization of her notes. Could have been more helpful in the research paper and seemed obvious of favoritism in class. Attendance is a must!

I was skeptical that this course would be merely Xtn indoctrination, but all perspectives were approached and treated equally and fairly. Doris was an amazing prof who made the class extremely interesting and fun. The marking was a bit hard and the MT was unlike the rest of the course... don't expect to pull off an A without working your butt off.
