Tries not to be as intimidating as most people think he is, and seems to be getting better at it. Very smart and very good at explaining the course material, and most certainly does NOT read off slides. The material itself is hard, but he knows how to teach it - you should be fine if you remember what you learned in past years.

Took microbiology with him and loved it! He was interesting and always had fun facts or good examples to go with class material. There was a lot of material and work but it if you work hard you can do well.

This prof obviously did not want to teach this course. The content is not tested at all the way it is taught, and there is no way to properly prepare for his tests. He is frustrating, and thinks he is way better than the students. He is not a personable person, and repeatedly "yells" at you how much he does not want to be in class

He has no interest in teaching this class. His lectures are not helpful come evaluation time. The tests are unfair. Overall I have had a horrible experience in a class that I predicted to be my favourite.

Easily the best class I've had all term, and possibly in my entire university career! Lectures were clear and labs were fun. He cares about biology and his students. Sarcasm and jokes an added bonus. Heightened my interest in biology immensely!

Arguably the best prof at Mount A and my favorite. Doug can explain things so we can understand them, makes class interesting and fun, and loves it when students are interested in what he's teaching and do well. I really loved genetics and look forward to taking more Campbell courses it the future.

All you need to do well in this course is DO THE QUESTIONS ASSIGNED. The solution guide is fantastic - buy it or split with someone. You learn something cool every class and the tests are challenging but not impossible! Just do the questions and you'll be well prepared. Labs quizzes are hard though.

Funny... love the inbreeding jokes... slightly confused though... if you don't understand the material for non-bacteria how do you expect to talk about things that aren't bacteria?

Hmm,if you taught theory in a class which consisted mainly of descriptions, would it not be logical to have such things on the exams? But of course, to an omnipotent professor nothing needs to make sense!Especially when you hate teaching the class.hefu
