Doug is the man. I was really pleased with his practical approach to the material (not trying to make things harder than they should be). His HW were great prep for quizzes, he kept the class at a great pace and always interesting. Recommended if you get the chance.

6B is no joke, his tests were harder than Guruswamy's and he's not that great of a lecturer. The two midterms can be tricky and if you screw up badly on one of them you don't have a chance for an A. For us he made the final quite easy to boost our grades back up but this class is no joke.

Good teacher, explains things well especially during office hours. Don't do that many examples in class though. Tests are straightforward, he doesn't try to trick you.

I thought this guy would be great because he sub'd for 6A a few times and I liked the way he was teaching. WRONG. He just wastes 60% of lecture time doing demonstrations of things that mean nothing when it comes to taking the test. He gives almost NO practice problems, his lecture and HW assignments are 20 folds easier than the tests! No bueno

Though he may be nice, no matter how hard you study for this class, his test will be completely irrelevant. It isn't about learning, it's about how lucky you get when guessing on the exams. Absolutely ridiculous. Don't recommend him at all, especially if you're pre med and is just trying to complete required classes. It's infuriating.

Folsom was an awesome physics professor. He constanly did demos which made the class engaging and made you want to learn more. My HS physics teachers made me hate physics but Folsom made me love it! His tests aren't too difficult as long as you study. His pace was fast for summer but still reasonable. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN!

Exams are based off the lecture notes and are similar to the practice problems. He also lets you have two sheets of notes for the exams. Not too difficult compared to Stuart. Don't take phys 4 with Stuart if you are worried for your grade.

Hands down the best professor I've had so far. Crystal clear (and interesting) in his explanations, doesn't have his head in the clouds like research-oriented professors, and always willing to help. Go to his office hours whenever possible and study hard, and you'll be golden. Lectures are worth going to, and his tests are difficult but fair.

Professor Folsom was responsible for the discussion sections for Physics CS 31-33. During the discussion sections, he guided us into more in-depth discussions on the Physics problems. He also explained things very clearly. That helped us a lot. As I know,he will be responsible for giving lectures for the Physics CS 31-36 series in the coming years.
