Comment:

Very caring professor. His lectures arent the best Ive seen but easy to follow, and hes very willing to help you. HWs are essential supplement, and you do sometimes have to teach yourself so definitely read the book. Tests arent bad if you have studied your HWs thoroughly. Recommend to CS majors if you dont want to suffer 2810/20s instructors

Brilliant professor. Can be disorganized as said, but only because he's constantly busy researching, working with graduate students, and helping his undergrads, whom he seems to put first in priority. Class is a must and office hours are essential but amazing. He's nearly always in his office with the door open. Re-inspires a love for math.

Really great math prof - one of the better I've had at Vanderbilt. He's pretty easy-going with deadlines and due dates. Lectures are pretty good - good mix of theory and examples. Tests aren't too bad - there are some basic proofs but mostly straightforward computation.

He's super helpful during the office hours. If you read the book before, you could fairly understand what he's talking about during the lecture. Finish the review sheet, it's super helpful for the test. Also, we have a final project, which means no final test! It's rare for math classes.

Comment:

Prof. Hardin is one of the nicest guys, even though he's kinda all over the place in class. But he's super-helpful during office hours (which you need to go to or you'll be done before the first midterm). The tests are fairly easy, and the homework ranges from mildly difficult to boringly tedious. You do a lot worse with math profs.

He is somewhat disorganized in class, but extremely helpful during office hours. He assigns weekly homework which is collected and there are often short quizzes at the beginning of class which together keep you on top of the material. 204 was the hardest class I've ever taken, but luckily he's a super nice guy and a lenient grader on tests.

Hardin is such a nice guy. It's up to you to stay up to date with the material but he'll do what he can to make sure you understand what's going on. His tests are very fair and he grades them leniently. Homework is due before each test and there are daily quizes (a problem or two from the short, ungraded nightly assignment). Highly recommended.

He assigns alot of homework and there are quizzes nearly every class period, but its all to make sure students are keeping up with the material. Doing so will earn you a good grade. He is disorganized in class, but extremely helpful in office hours. Being able to do proofs is a must, but he's very good at explaining how to proceed. READ THE BOOK.

Nice guy but incredibly disorganized and often confusing. The averages on the four tests were usually in the C range. He also gives tons of homework. I would definitely avoid Hardin and 155A, unless you're premed or an engineer. It's really hard and an absolute GPA killer.

Decent teacher, consdering the subject. He moves pretty quickly, but tells you specifically what you need to know for the tests - take good notes, do the homework, and you'll be fine. He has exact requirements for proofs, so make sure you pay attention.
