I really, really enjoyed The Keeping of Animals. It was incredibly interesting, there were a lot of readings but they were all very quick and relevant, and each was different. The prof lectures are random and tend to be tangential, but his tangents are very informative. He's also just a nice, caring guy.

Have to be one of my worst professors ever. SO BORING and TOTAL RAMBLER. You learn nothing. For the class evaltuation I said I wanted to shoot myself every time I walked into that class. The readings were honestly more interesting than him.

This man will go off on tangents that can be really interesting, if you choose to listen. I learned alot and found the readings to be incredibly interesting. You MUST read to gain something from the class. The lectures are kind of fun, but aren't organized enough to rely on class notes alone. If you hate Doug, just talk to him.

If you are a geography student and like learning about the effects an environment has on a people and their culture, then this is your man. He does know a ton about certain things. Hated him until I was able to meet him personally. Very nice quiet guy, not the best people skills and the test are hard. Oh and BTW, Clark used to be way better.

wastes time talking about cowboys, his cats, or goats in trees, is forever stuck teaching the way a middle school teacher does when there is still time, but no material left to cover, is boring, irritating, and ignorant. buying books is a waste of money as material does not pertain to exams or class

Um. Very smart. Very bitter. Talks about his cats way too much, rants about how old he is, and beware the scary, horrible impressions. Avoid the front row, and be forwarned the tests are impossible.

As a Clark Alum himself, he suffers from the "I remember when Clark was rigorous and perfect" delusion. Despite one's abilities, needs, and the fact that they pay tuition, he will screw you if, in his mind, you are not Clark enough.

Nice guy, horrible teacher, doesn't explain what you need to know for exams. Gives you the vibe that you are wasting his time and that he'd rather be out traveling the world.

Don't sit in the front row during his lectures - he had a tendency to wave his arms around wildly and almost hit people. He also smacks himself in the head a lot. Props for knowledge and subject interest.

Beware of Dr. Doug's stories about Morocco and putting goats in trees. Oh, and make sure you ask him about his cats. I think he forgets to take his medication some days...
