Just did South Africa Program with him. Absolutely fantastic experience. Motala is professional and thorough. Had the most enriching experience both in class and in internship. Will take another class with him.

Took three classes with him. Absolutely the best. Demanding but straight forward. Just a treasure of knowledge. Come prepared and be ready to be challenged. International Law class focuses on the most current of events. Con law exams focus on topical issues.

Perhaps I was one of his favorites, But not based on opinions, only on constant preparation and eagerness to participate. Yes he generally lectures from old notes but he certainly teaches the black letter law. Pretty helpful in office hours vis a vis old exam prep.

This professor definitely plays favorites. He's primarily interested in hearing his own ideas. His goal is not to teach you how to think, but what to think. He teaches from the same lecture he's been using for over a decade. Make sure you get copies of them from older students. Avoid taking this professor. Take Crooms instead.

I did not enjoy the course. I appreciate th fact that he expects you to be prepared for class and that he communicates the material well but as a previous poster says he does play favorites. I clearly was not one of his favorites..in sum I really can't stand the guy, wish I had taken Crooms, take Crooms for Con Law 2!
