This class covers everything boring about biology, presented to you in the most boring lecture style I've ever come across. You won't be happy to go to class and will struggle to stay awake. Tests are over notes and you must know everything in your notes which mine were 43 pages per test. avoid this class if possible.

Still in the first 3 weeks of class- impressions so far: 1) He gets on tangents far too often- not sure what to write down. 2) He's forgotten more about science than I'll ever know. 3) Pretty interesting, but at times confusing- he throws a lot of info at you in a short period of time.

One of BEST Profs I've ever had. Lecture, labs, field trips all tops. I took this some years ago, and he inspired my lifelong love of ornithology. Dr. James was over-flowing with knowledge & contagious enthusiasm.

Had him for animal behavior. He gets side tracked a bit so its a good idea to bring a tape recorded. Absolutely anything he says may show up on the exam so write and study every word he says. Over all the class was pretty easy - no text book use but exams were tricky. Only 1 person in the class got a C. The guy is a legend so take him while you can

Get a master copy of notes. They've been circulating around for years. Find an old exam. Study all the wrong answer choices. Write down every picky detail. Everything is important. I made high A's on every exam and made Ecology my life for 3 days before the exam. I photographically memorized every page of notes; each test had about 30 typed notes.

Dr. James is awesome. Lectures are pretty interesting, tests aren't too hard if you study. The lab is crazy! You track deer, trap rats, and do your own taxidermy! Recommended for any Bio major.

Semi senile, has biological tourette's syndrone, mumbles incoherently in class then screams out something about birds or ecology. Test seem to be easy if you have his old tests as a guide. Uses a lo of his in class lecture examples on the test.

Awesome class! Teaches ornithology and gen zoo too. Brilliant man and should keep on teaching forever no matter how old he is. Tests can be hard though.
