Now I've seen a lot of negative comments regarding Ms. Spike's personality and teaching style, and honestly have to say they're all bogus. Ms. Spike is a sweet old lady who genuinely tries help her students. The material is not daunting you can make an A as long as you do the homework and review the practice tests.

Mrs. Spike gives you access to great resources to help prepare you for the exams and quizzes. The practice exams and quizzes are very similar to the actual tests and quizzes, in having the same type of problems with different numbers. She grades more than fairly on them as well. Overall, a great professor.

I loved Ms. Spike! Math is my worst subject so I wasn't looking forward to the class, but her online materials are VERY helpful. She was willing to help, and she drops the lowest 3 quiz grades at the end of the semester. I thought she was great and would recommend her to people who struggle in math.

She is very organized and always smiling (which I fail to see as a fault for whoever it was that previously counted that against her). She has several resources that she makes available to students and she is thorough in her presentation of ideas. I enjoyed her class and think she was extremely effective. Highly recommended.

She can be a bit condescending when you need a little bit of clarity on something in class and most of the advice she gives us is just to use our online resources, day in and day out. Tests and quizzes are easy because they're basically replicas of the online samples, but I've found myself dreading going to her class because of her attitude.

Karen is awful! She talks to her students like they are babies and she calls them stupid/dumb when they ask a question. She will constantly tell you to use your resources on blackboard and you will get a grade on it. It is an easy class but I honestly can not stand her or the way she teaches.

Pretty much had to teach myself in this class which isn't great since I don't like math. Repeatedly told us to get the book and then we never used it except to "practice" problems in it by ourselves at home. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU CAN AVOID IT.

Mrs. Spike helped us all immensely! She dropped the 3 lowest test grades as long as we didn't miss more than 2 classes in the summer session. She was also always available before & after class for help. However, make sure you have study buddies because she isn't very clear when she explains things. Over all I highly recommend her!

Mrs. Spike is not helpful at all!! Like everyone has said before she is extremely condescending, and she acts like she knows everything when she doesn't even know how to explain things correctly. AVOID HER CLASS AT ALL COSTS!!

i would not recommend her to anyone. because the homework is online, you have to pay to do it. i find her lazy since everythings online. she is usually fairly condescending, and an overall awful teacher. i took her for an education class and can't understand why she's teaching us how to teach when she can't teach herself. take dr. toney if possible

I was looking forward to another math class after having Dr. Toney (who is awesome), but Ms. Spike destroyed that. She's a sweet lady, but not a good teacher. All our homework was online, which got confusing. The class was boring and she never answered questions without being condescending.

She was very helpul when I needed to take a test early or if I had a question. Always available outside of class. If you have pretty good backgroung knowledge you should be fine but she can be a bit confusing the way she explains things. She drops 3 quiz/online homework grades.
