Luckies class is entirely on you to figure out. You'll do research the whole semester (which is cool) but there is NO direction to how to even do it. You'll get your research rejected for the dumbest reasons & it hurts your grade. He is vague and arrogant when it comes to answering any questions you have. Material is great, the work is outrageous.

Dr. Luckie is honestly one of the worst prof's I've had at Michigan State. He comes off as very arrogant, and is honestly a bit rude to students in my opinion. The class is an astronomical amount of work, and I get that because its Briggs, my problem is the fact that he doesn't outline his expectations and changes policies last minute. WORST PROF

Comment:
Dr. Luckie has extremely unrealistic expectations, and expects you to read his mind. He will expect you to know how he wants things formatted, without giving you a clear rubric. He is also very intimidating, both in email and in person, which makes it difficult to communicate concerns you may have with the class. Take university bio instead of him.

This professor has unreal expectations. He gives out the most vague rubrics ever and expects everything to have perfect formatting. In addition he expects 12-15 hours a week outside of class for you to be working on class related material.

BioCore taught by Luckie is amazing. In the first six weeks of this course I've learned more than in all the years of high school and last year at MSU. This is what I thought college was going to be like. I'm reading dozens of research papers in this "bio I" course and designing my own experiment. Oh and slackers perish in Luckie's classes, love it

This guy is a complete joke. He expects 14-15 hours of work to be done outside his lecture/lab per week. All his rubrics and directions were so vague and the grading is harsh and super detailed. You learn nothing from him. Only from yourself and others in class. In my opinion that's not the definition of a good professor.

Best Prof at MSU. In high school I was the girl who didn't get bio. I started his Biology class with little to no interest in Biology and now it's the coolest world ever. I changed my major to Physiology as a result and I've ace'd PSL classes since learning everything in Luckie's. Best class ever. Take this class if you want to be a god at biology.

Always willing to help! very funny, which makes the info. stick in your mind! very interesting, makes a dry subject fun! The lab is a massive pain, but you learn a lot and you are allowed to explore your own topics within reason.

Luckie is a spectacular prof. Likely the best prof at MSU. His class is stellar, it challenges you to learn stuff like you never thought possible. You become a frickin biology physiology genius. It's fun too. You design your own research project throughout the whole semester. Best class I ever had. Oh and slackers hate Luckie's class. ha!

The best prof on campus at MSU. Dr. Luckie turns you into to a genius in biology. I'm not kidding, his class is what you really expected when you went to college. After taking LBS-145 I got 4.0's in all my upper level biology/bioch/physiol classes.

Dr. Luckie is the coolest teacher. LBS 145 was the hardest class I have ever taken, but you will learn so much from this guy. He has a good sense of humor and makes sure you learn the material.
